I'm somewhat concerned that they will not allow Premium reservation holders to upgrade to GT.Posted this in a thread but wanted to share it here, too, since it’s relevant:
I just called the Mach E helpline:
- Order bank opens 06/26. She didn’t have an open time.
- If FE are available, you can change it here. Not sure how that works since I’m sure many are still reservation holders that may just let their reservation expire.
- Some reservations will have to be confirmed by 08/01 and others by 12/31. She referenced the Select as being one you have until 12/31, so I’m guessing Premium and FE models will have to be confirmed by 08/01.
- If there are FE, it will be on a first come first serve basis. Meaning that a lower reservation number does not grant you a better chance of obtaining one.
- All specs and pricing will be published before ordering. Not sure how that will work if your dealer decides to charge an ADM.
I am a little skeptical about being able to place a GT order this early. I say this because GT reservation holders didn’t received the email that most everyone received yesterday. Additionally, I’d be surprised if pricing and specs would be confirmed for a model over a year out. So not sure if her statement was accurate or just an assumption.
It’s funny because I wondered the opposite. Since GT reservation holders aren’t getting the same communications, I’m wondering if we would be able to change in this first round of ordering.I'm somewhat concerned that they will not allow Premium reservation holders to upgrade to GT.

I did. They told me all reservations would be available to order next Friday and we could change trim levels.Call Helpline. 1-800-334-4375.858
I asked your question and Kumar Galhotra says there was a lot of thought around this and yes you will be able to switch from Premium to GT.I'm somewhat concerned that they will not allow Premium reservation holders to upgrade to GT.
I expect that although coming late summer, the GTs will still be 2021 model year.It would seem logical to convert the Gt later, as it is at least a year away unfortunately. Does that make it a '22 model?
Interested, I don’t have a preorder date, just N/A—N/A- there.I found it. Click on the "View your reservation" and it says I am allowed up two Mach e reservations. Probably not on the same number though....
Also says my preorder date is 11-4-2020.
