Is the GT PE worth it over the Standard GT? Are the GT PE seats comfy enough for a long trip? thx

Hard to tell at this point. I ordered a GTPE but I also prefer the extremes of almost everything (spicy food, sour candy, wild experiences, etc.). I couldn't care less about long trip comfort as I never intend to road trip my GTPE since I'll keep at least one ICE for the foreseeable future.

Also, I think the GT wheels are beyond hideous and the GTPE wheels are gorgeous. Personal opinion. They remind me of my 2011 GT500 Performance Package wheels.

No one has their GT or GTPE yet to have any idea about the seat comfort.

The GTPE includes, over the GT:

Minor differences in interior trim
Different seats
Magneride Suspension
Forged wheels with Summer Tires
+34 ft lbs torque

From those you'll have to decide if it's worth the additional 5k to you as that's going to be variable based on what's important to folks.

Magneride is probably the biggest upgrade but 5k is pretty expensive for that alone.

I'm also hoping the seat bottoms in the PE are more raked (angled) as I didn't like how flat/level the seats were in the premium car I test drove (I felt like my thighs had no support when I lowered the seat to where I like it because my knees stuck up very high from the high floor from the battery pack). Rumor is the PE seats give a 1/2" more headroom (possibly for track day helmets) so I'm hoping that means the bottom cushion angle is increased (so your butt sits lower/deeper in the seat) since no Mach E's have seats that allow you adjust the bottom cushion angle independent of height.

Thanks Folks. Have the GTPE on order, really like the wheels and the interior better (based on pictures ect.) When I ordered, it they told me about December. Can't wait ;-)

I ordered the GTPE mostly because the GT wheels look terrible. I recently upgraded my Mustang GT from a 16 to 18 and the newer one includes magnaride which is so much better than a regular suspension. I take it up to 110 and it feels so much more stable and smooth. Plus I have heard complaints about the bouncy ride of the non GTs Mach Es. The only downside is I will need snow tires asap.

Looking at it objectively, an extra $5k for sport seats, electronically adjustable suspension, and the forged wheels seems to represent a reasonable value. Subjectively, only you can decide whether those particular features appeal to you.

One other thing to be aware of is that the Performance Edition forces you to take both the Panoramic Roof and Ford Co-Pilot360 if you want either of them, while the standard GT lets you order each by itself.

I just hope the GT-PE seats’ head rests offer room for the back side of my helmet. My Fusion’s head rest forces my head too far forward with helmet on. ?

Did you order from a dealer or online? Curious who gave the December ETA. I ordered in June and got no ETA. For me I kind of have no expectations of when it will be delivered. Just a huge cluster f' with everything right now.

Yup, which is why even though I wanted Co-Pilot 360/Active 2.0, I do not have it configured on my order. I don’t want the added weight up high. Ford seems to have screwed the pooch on that particular requirement. Well, at least for me.

I ordered online in June as well and had a dealership person I know check on ETA. Told me December but no commitment. I too don’t have expectations on delivery with everything going on with chips, battery etc. convinced GTPE is for me though

On your current car, just remove the headrest, flip it around, and reinsert it (allowed at autocrosses). But the GTPE's seats have fixed headrests...hmmm, I'll have to do a seat mod, I guess.

Well I'll save you some work later down the line but really if you're not taking your GT to the track then NO .

For me, the answer is, "Not really." I'd like the adaptive suspension and the slightly quicker 0-60 time would be fun, but the (slightly) reduced range, track-focused mode, summer tires, narrower seats and extra costs for the PE required packages (the panoramic sunroof mandate to get the BlueCruise-capable system, for example) would be wasted on me. For that matter, had the GT not matched the Premium AWD's range and had its MSRP reduced below $60k (netting me the full $2,000 NY state rebate rather than just $500), I wouldn't be planning on getting even the base GT model, even though I decided I'd prefer not to get the pano sunroof (glare-sensitive family members and one more thing to crack and need repairs).

Other than not having the adaptive suspension, I find the overall package of the GT with the pano roof delete, the better performance, the 270 mile range, the all-weather tires and its other features the best match for my driving style, needs and wants. It's what I'm planning to order early next year. {Jonathan}
