Hi all,

Just a quick question on accessories

I have had my car for nearly 6 weeks now, and am still waiting for the rear seat mats, boot liner/tray, and front/rear mud-flaps.

I know my dealer ordered them promptly once we finalised the deal.

Is anyone else still waiting for various accessories to turn-up?

I find it hard to believe they are out of stock given we are among the first batch of owners!

Thanks
David
Hi David, I ordered mine with the car and i'm finally getting the mudflaps fitted and collecting the mats on Thursday, so about four weeks after I collected the car.

Out of the blue I got an email from Hannah this morning- she told me my car is now in the second stage of QC at Antwerp. A short while later my dealer phoned me to say that the ETA was 18th September.
A pretty good start to my week!

Anyone had an issue with their Dealer struggling to get their MME ’released’ by Ford so they can get it registered? Mine seems to be having trouble with both this and finding where my deposit went to - he thinks Ford have it even though the credit card confirmation clearly shows the Dealer name. My Ford online tracker still shows ‘on the way’ too, despite the car sitting in the dealers lot for the past 4 days…. It all seems a struggle….

Sounds like twaddle to me. My £1000 deposit was paid to my dealer directly and I confirmed this when I placed the order.

My Ford online credit got messed up today. Ended up getting cancelled and done direct with dealer with new proposal. Ford credit will remove the original Hard Search from credit file which is good too.
Seems issues with the online to Dealer transition.

Hi David,

My mud flaps, mats and boot liner were all showing out of stock on the website, but I gave my dealer the part numbers so they could order them anyway - and they were all ready when I collected my car! It would appear they keep some stock by to supply dealers.

I would just say I think the boot liner is rubbish - it says it has an anti-skid surface but everything slides all over my boot whenever I go round corners (and I don't drive like a maniac!!!). It's a completely different material to the one I had in my old Toyota C-HR, nothing moved on that!!!

Yeah - although my dealer reckons that this is their 5th MME (although the first that wasn’t Rapid Red if that makes a difference… ?). As the original order was processed by the Sales Manager and he’s been off for the past few days I suspect it is new for my guy and the knowledge of how to process properly lies elsewhere…. ?

Well today is finally the day when I get to collect my Mach-E :) But my god it has been a frustrating process due to the terrible communication activity from Ford. After car left Mexico on 19 May they advised when it arrived in Antwerp and then when it arrived in Flushing on 15 July. That email stated that they would advise when car got to the UK. Since then I have heard nothing from them. Car got into Dagenham on 21/7 then Liverpool on 23/7 and Belfast 30/7.
Thanks to Hannah at Ford and tools posted by members of this Forum I have been able to keep track. Ford really do need to look seriously at their systems to improve Customer information flow.
Good luck to all the other people waiting on their vehicles :)

Yep. Had my car 5 weeks and I’m still waiting on the rubber floor mats.

Phoned a couple of weeks ago and was told she was still waiting on Ford supplying them. I’d requested them when I ordered my car in December so it seems strange the Ford didn’t have a rough idea of how many to produce.

Seems strange to be seeing others getting them though….?

Hope the handover goes well. Yours is an experience that seems to be a common thread. Having waited patiently myself since placing an order in November - my dealer (Hartwell, Oxford) has told me that the MME price increased this year and that they wont release the car unless the higher amount is paid. This a day before I'm due to collect the vehicle. I've raised this with both Hartwell and Ford's management teams and highlighted the point you've (all) made - i.e great product but the most dreadful dealership experience - with only the concierge team as helpful and informative.

If you signed a contract when you placed your order then that is the price you pay. Sounds like the dealer is trying it on to make a bit more out of the deal. It isn't your fault that it has taken so long to deliver.

You're giving them credit for being that switched on! I think the reality is that they've no clue. The dealers are so far removed from the customer's journey that they receive cars without any financial or contractual context let alone any personal knowledge of the painful journey most of us have had to go through to get it. I understand why they don't care (because there's no incentive for them 'to care') but that they seem to have little or no knowledge of 'how a deposit works' nor wishing to honour the price quoted at the time of deposit is stupidity - and doesn't stack up from a legal or commercial perspective.
It has been mentioned before that the dealers are middle-men...final quality checks and simply handing the car over. They'll try and sell service plans, insurances and ancillaries and I imagine that's what they'll care about. I do think our collective feedback will help improve the whole buying experience and these issues will hopefully be resolved over time - but dealers are not helping the Ford brand right now.
