Hi

I've removed the photographs to save on server space. Looks very neat and the dashcam is not too intrusive when looking out the windscreen. Is this dashcam easy to remove from the mounting? I only ask as my insurance company say the dashcam must be removed when not in use as it makes the car "more desirable to thieves" and they may break in to steal the dashcam. I know it's barmy but I've never been able to fathom out the logic of insurance companies.
Yes, just push in the small button on the mount and the camera slides out.

I have used similar blackvue dashcams for nearly 7 years now and have always left them on display in the windscreen.

Sounds like guidance rather than a policy condition!
Yes I've just double checked the policy document and it mentions nothing about dashcams. This was verbally via my insurance broker when I asked them to check with my insurance company. If removable perhaps it's best to remove to avoid temptation just to save hassle for claiming damage due to forcible entry. I've got used to hiding my Nextbase dashcam (magnetic mount) in my CX5 when I leave it parked.

I would have thought that any potential thief would be looking more at the massive “iPad looking device” on the dashboard rather than a dashcam. Not realising it’s attached to the dashboard.

Podpoint ? Mine failed when the cable didn't lock in and thus moved out by a tiny amount from the socket. Make sure it is definitely in.
I had my charger fitted on Wednesday. It charged ok when plugged in. Then I set the timer in the car and plugged it in. It started charging immediately. Then set the timer on the wall charger and waited till midnight. It charged for 1 minute, then it stopped.

I then waited till the next night and it worked ok. Charged up to 80%. The Ford app says it was charging for 14 hours, so must start when it is plugged in, rather than when it starts charging.

Seems to need both setting for it to work, so again, not sure what the in-car timer achieves, if anything. Maybe it is just the limit bit that works.

Not the case for me

Slowly starting to grips with my MME after 10 days but struggled with charging at the Ecotricity CCS point at Ferrybridge services late last night when it kept ending charging after six minutes - did it 5 times in a row bang on six minutes each time, with an error report saying problem with external charger.
Moved onto the adjacent AC charger and no problems - a VW ID3 hooked up to the CCS and charged successfully. Any similar issues?

I also seem to have disabled Journey Recording - not sure what I've turned off but the car is no longer capturing Journeys, I've worked through all the settings but can't seem to work out what's changed (it was fine until Thursday) - any ideas what I should look for to reactivate?

You need to turn on journey recording in settings in the FordPass app

Hello,
I am proud new ordered person. Placed an order for an AWD SR in carbonised grey about 2 weeks ago. It has left the US and has arrived in a European port. does anyone know how long it takes from this point?

I have a trade in which is a velar and I got the warning light that it needs servicing in 1500 miles and I am sooooo hoping that the new car arrives before it pings.

I am also having a charger fitted which is an easee home model. any reviews on this, I couldn't decided between this and the ohme, but thought the easee seemed a bit more future proof.

I think that must be one of the old Ecotricity chargers, which are very unreliable, particularly with CCS. Not sure why the BMW had more luck, but I wouldn’t trust them. Fortunately they’re all being replaced over the summer.

Yes, never underestimate the thickness of a thief...

Hello Stinky Minky

My MME took just over a month to arrive at the dealers from landing at Antwerp to me collecting it tomorrow.

I know what you mean about Range Rover servicing costs. I"m sure I have paid for a mechanic second home in Florida with mine. Actually looking forward to my next service in two years time!

Are you trading in with the dealer? I was surprised to be offered more from them than with We buy any car. Thank you Philip Schofield.
