In my parking garage, the day my neighbor got the Mach E, he bumped into my KIA while trying to park. I asked him to give me a tour of it, and drove me around the block.
I simply went to the dealer to test drive it, curious about the EV and I left with the car. Still a little surprised I bought it, but the screen and EV was appealing. I love it.

It's not a Tesla.
It looks like a normal car.
59cuft plus a nifty frunk.
It's a gadget, feeding my inner gadget freak.

The new Escape PHEV is only FWD and it was severely delayed till after my lease at the time was up. Wanted to go all electric if possible, obviously had to be a Ford product. Finished my MBA degree, got a big raise so now I can afford a better car. Saw the Mach-E....done. Reserved mine 30 minutes after the reveal event in Nov 2019.

First, that's a great story. Instead of yelling at the guy, you bought the same car. Too great.

As for me, for a long time I've been wanting:
  • an electric vehicle with at least a 250 mile range,
  • with all wheel drive,
  • that had an SUV/CUV form factor for gettin' those groceries and haulin' those kids,
  • that I could possibly afford in a decent trim level, and
  • that wasn't a Tesla.
The Mach-E was the first car dropped that met all of those requirements. A few more have come since, but looking at them, the only one that even comes remotely close to the same specs would be the Cadillac Lyriq, but it won't be out for another six to twelve months.

Then again, I'm wondering if my April-ordered Mach-E will be here any faster at this point, too. "Waiting for Chips" might as well be "In Purgatory."

At 64 years young I was convinced I would own my 17' Escape until it or I died but the cost of maintenance and fuel was starting to get to me. Yes I am worried about the environment and going electric was my best option to do my part but that wasn't the main reason.
I have been wanting to "rekindle" my youth and had been looking for a 1968 Mustang Fastback for the past few years to replace the one I had while in high school but the prices were astronomical and I could not see spending upwards of 100k to then have the car stripped to be repainted Highland Green like my original.
By chance I was in my Ford dealer getting the Escape serviced and I spotted a Mach-E in the showroom. Now I have specific needs for a vehicle and that is mainly Space and the Mach E with the fold down rear seat had similar space to my Escape.

Next I saw the specs for the Mach-E and thats the first time I saw that it was a Mustang!

The sales manger whom I had done business with in the past handed me a fob and said take the demo out, just bring it back in one piece. Three hours later I was back with the biggest smile on my face in a long time. Whipped out my credit card and said "where do I sign"

That was only ten weeks ago and I am hoping my car comes in before the end of the year. Oh and I am still hunting for that elusive 68 fastback!

I wear a lot of magnets because some randos on YouTube convinced me they will stop me from getting cancer, cure the fake COVID, and give me back years of my life. All those magnets attracted me to the steel on the Mach-E.

The glowing reviews from the standard car reviewers. I wasn't even considering it, but held off on a Tesla long enough to see the reviews. When everyone loved it well, I ordered one.

After having the 2014 Energi and now the 2018 Focus Electric, I wanted the next BEV Ford to come down the line.

I got to take the demo for a weekend after constantly nagging about an update to my day 1 Bronco reservation with no build date in sight. Was informed I could use A plan and get the $7,500 off the car immediately on their demo when it's program expired in July.

Wife and I loved the mach e, contacted her company about restitution in lieu of her company gas card, they had nothing in place which was shocking.

Crunched the numbers for me taking it over and it was a no brainer with my mileage reimbursement program.

I've owned 4 mustangs in my lifetime and this one brings a smile to my face like no other before it. Almost everyday somebody stops me and asks about it.

Ha that’s also actually one reason I went with it. I love the Tesla look, but the interior looks a little cheap and from my research the body is a little cheap and dents easily. Amazing car with driving, which seems to translate to the MachE.
I have the same issues with tech - I got pulled in with that middle screen :)

Thank you!! :)

I actually had that same checklist without actually knowing it. When looking at the MachE, it seemed to just feel like it was both a beautiful car and fit all of my needs. Also, walking away and it locking, it was on. especially after I left my last car unlocked and someone stole all of my camera lighting. :(

I was lucky the dealership had preorders that people changed their minds… their loss.
