Hello,

I have been driving my MME for about the month. It is a great car to drive. One thing I am very impressed by is the adaptive cruise control. I have a long commute (1 hour) and most of it on the highway at speed. Being able to set it and just hold the steering wheel is very relaxing. The car is very good at keeping distance and adjusting the speed to maintain that spacing between cars.

I only buy cars about every ten years so maybe this is nothing new on the MME. But it is sure better than my prior one flat speed style I had before.

Just sharing.

I agree with this, I love driver assists like this and it is a pretty good system on the MME. Thanks for sharing.

I have always used cruise control as much as possible but after my wife got a Forester with adaptive cruise control I couldn’t stand the regular cruise on my car.

just took MME delivery yesterday but have already spent 90 minutes on the highway, mostly using BlueCruise, and some time on back roads using adaptive cruise.

Overall the Ford adaptive cruise is better and smoother than Subaru’s. It only allows the speed to vary slightly and responds well to vehicles in front (though it brakes strongly when the lead vehicle’s brake lights go on). On the winding back roads I found that turning off lane centering was better.

And BC is pretty amazing! Though after waiting impatiently for my car five months it’s weird to just sit back and not drive the car. :) It does seem to hug the centerline a bit, it has a little trouble when lane lines are less clear - exits and such, and it didn’t allow me to engage BC when I was heading straight into in the afternoon sun. But it automatically disengages when I change lanes and quickly reengages when I am stable in the new lane.

I’m not sure people fully understand the safety value of these features. Having your car always sensing the vehicle ahead and able to stop your car even if you’re not paying attention will save a significant number of lives every year.

Agree. I had a loaner Ford Edge with the system and it wasn't as good as the Mach-E has so there must be some development going on because it's pretty good in this car. Much better than Chrysler's version as well.

While it's good, there are some limitations of course. I get the Collision Alarm fairly often because the system doesn't look far enough down the lane to see all the brake lights from cars that have come to a dead stop. The collision alarm will sound and appear on the driver's screen when the car figures out it isn't going to stop in time so the driver can take over. So far, I have always taken over because I don't want to crash but it seems to me that if I am able to bring the car to a stop then it should be able to do the same. Granted, those are extreme scenarios that I don't encounter every day.....just maybe 2 or 3 times per week. I have learned when the car is able to follow traffic smoothly and without any drama and when I need to get involved.

Overall, I think it's a very good system and I use it all the time. I bet I drive with ACC and the Lane Keeping thing turned on for at least 80 miles each day. Sometimes more. It's a very nice feature.

Can't wait to test it in MME. Last weekend spent 2.5 hours in my wife's CR-V that has this feature, and only a few time had to touch the pedals. Combined with lane centering, it's almost self-driving car. What I'd like to know if MME slows down before a curve (CR-V doesn't, and at times it was a little too fast to my taste), and if break brake lights turn on when it slows down.

This was a requirement for my next car, so I’m glad to hear it works well!

That is the only reason I have decided to go for a brand new expensive car.......
otherwise I'm quite happy with my Mitsubishi Outlander 2003, which will become "classic" soon :)

The adaptive cruise control is absolutely one of my favorite features of this car.

Me too and I will be using it today on my drive to Orlando. :)
That is brave of you Sir. I drive I-4 from Lakeland to Seffner daily and my biggest fear is how well these features will work on I4. I’ve lived in other parts of the country and fully understand why I4 is the most dangerous stretch of highway in the country.

will you let us know how it goes?

The adaptive Cruise Control system is fantastic. It makes a lot of my commute (on those days I have to go into Philadelphia) a lot less painful. Now, if Ford will just get it together and deploy the mythical “BlueCruise” system they keep claiming they have coming “soon” ?

I completely feel like its a feature that should be on every car at this point. Once I had my first car with it, I told myself I'd never get one without it.

The worst part is when you drive another car and set the cruise and have to constantly remind yourself it won't slow down for you.

I use adaptive cruise control with lane centering a lot and I think it is pretty good. It appears to me that the only change with Blue Cruise is I will be able to completely turn loose of the steering wheel for long periods of time without the thing beeping at tme. Are there other improvements to Blue Cruise I am not aware of. Even with this I am really looking forward to Blue Cruise.
