Thank you for posting this. My Mach E was built in May of 2021 but I get wind noise and it does look like my windshield is sitting slightly lower than the roof lip. Looking at the requirements for this procedure, the cut off is built on or before Feb 2021. Do you think Ford will still address my issue when I being it in for the recall in mid-November? Should I reference this document? I would think this is the best time to address this wind noise issue.

No. You can raise the concern, and the service writer can document it, but if your build is outside the production dates listed then Ford will not pay the dealer for the time or materials.

so it's not a fix,, it's just applying some duct tape. We told them their seals were problematic. it's why many refused their cars at the beginning. this seems like a band aid.

LOL.
I'm pretty sure this is the dml105 solution.

Interesting. I guess I'll have the dealer do this eventually when they do the windshield/roof recalls.
Ditto. I hear some wind noise, not sure if this is the source and isn't very bad.

I don't have the issue. But do have 2 recalls + the software update in queued up. Local Ford doesn't have a ETA on when the parts will be available so need to wait a few weeks/months. Hope to get all the work done in one shot instead of after the first few are done.

For some reason Ford is being weird and not letting me print it out so I just am attaching screenshots as well as the normal copy+paste.

This is NOT the recall for the roof/windshield reseal. This is separate.

Glass Roof - Wind Noise From Upper Windshield Area Above 45 MPH (72 Km/H) - Built On Or Before 15-Feb-2021
Model:

Ford
2021 Mustang Mach-E

Issue: Some 2021 Mustang Mach-E vehicles built on or before 15-Feb-2021 may exhibit a wind noise turbulence noise at the top of the windshield when traveling above 45 mph (72 km/h). This may be due to the underflush condition of the windshield to glass roof at the top header area being greater than maximum spec of 4.4 mm. To correct the condition, follow the Service Procedure to install the weather strip/moulding.

Action: Follow the Service Procedure steps to correct the condition on vehicles that meet all of the following criteria:

Service Procedure

1. Using compressed air, lightly blow out the channel between the roof glass and the windshield to remove any dirt or debris.

2. Using isopropyl alcohol and a clean cloth, clean and dry the channel between the roof glass and the windshield.

NOTE: The B side of the windshield must be clean to ensure proper adhesion. (Figure 1)

Figure 1

3. Starting at one edge of the roof glass, peel back approximately 4 inches (10 cm) of the protective cover on the sticky edge of the moulding and insert into the channel. (Figures 2-3)

Figure 3

NOTE: A 90 degree pick or hook tool can help seat the strip to the vehicle moulding. Insert between the roof and the new moulding. (Figure 4)

4. Once the first end is started, continue to seat the moulding across the windshield to the opposite edge of the roof glass, pealing the protective cover while installing. (Figure 5)

NOTE: Make sure there is no misalignment, waves, exposed tape, or protrusion above the roof moulding.

5. Using a knife/razor, cut the moulding at the other end of the roof glass. (Figures 6-7)

Ugh… summer 2021 build here and absolutely have this issue. Local dealer agreed but was having a hard time finding where it’s coming from.

There is your tolerance. So if 'gap' exceeds 4.4 mm Ford will be having a hard time defending its date interval...

SO this is pretty much the exact fix many of us with early builds have already done! Ordering the part from amazon. So much for it being "a temporary solution until Ford makes this a TSB with a better fix" - Haha

It did help for sure though, so I'm sure those still experiencing the issue will appreciate this TSB.

Got this this morning.

Roof-Recall.jpg

I have no wind noise from exterior to interior. My roof is a bit higher all along but I think this is for drainage.

Thanks
These recalls are for a different issue, not for wind noise. You will want to get these recalls done when the dealer is ready to do them which at the earliest will be late November.

Not sure which is funnier, that they finally did the TSB, or how long it took. They really should have included a footnote crediting @JSW : Roof Wind Noise *Fixed*, Mar 4, 2021.
