Woke up early yesterday morning to find that my Mach-E had been stolen. Whoever stole it knew enough to delete my phone as a key (why is there no 2FA before deletion?), but not enough to take it without damaging other vehicles around it.

The deputy they sent out sounded pretty sure they'd find it and that it was a question of when and not if, but the answers I've been getting from since then isn't filling me with confidence.

I've contacted Ford support and they ensured me there is no way to track the vehicle, but that doesn't make any sense to me considering the Vehicle Location functionality in the FordPass app. All they said I could do was make a modem log request - through mail no less - to the Office of the General Counsel.

I've also tweeted at Ford to try to get some more information but I figured I'd post here too to see if there's anything else that can be done. The detectives are actually waiting for me to get them more information.

I'd appreciate any info/advice!

Very sorry to hear this.

How did they get in and start the vehicle? Did they somehow force it or were they able to steal the key fob first?

Fordpass app should show you where the car is.
Nope, they deleted out my phone from the car and I guess they added their own? In the app it tells me I need to activate it (I had already activated it previously and have used it quite a bit, so it certainly wasn't my first time). I've already tried it once and had the request denied. Without that, I don't get any of the functionality.

Ugh, so sorry to hear it was stolen.

You said that they damaged other vehicles. Does that mean that they hit other vehicles with your MME while abscond with it?

So messed up that some people do stuff like stealing other people’s stuff.

The only thing I can think of, which is a long shot, is getting at&t to triangulate the location from the modem. That is if you have the mobile hotspot activated. Since you're the owner and with a police report they might.

This that you cannot locate it by FordPass worries me. Please update.
He has said twice they removed the access. If you have the key fob, which he thinks he left in the car, you just perform a factory reset and done... It's not a flaw and cannot be done without a key fob.

Orlando is just round the corner. What were you driving? Color etc.

All your partners stuff still about?

Pretty sure my mobile hotspot trial lapsed and I didn't renew :/

There's really nothing else that can be done to locate the vehicle? Aside from more traditional measures, I mean.

As far as we're aware only the car was taken.

It's a Space White California Route 1

Sorry to hear this.

With OTA update abilities, I’m shocked Ford can’t locate the vehicle by VIN as soon as it connects to wifi.
I did only talk to the generic Ford support line about this, so not surprising they might not have given out 100% correct information. But it's just concerning that when I called one of the sheriff's deputies that they also didn't seem to be aware of how to get the right information from Ford and were expecting me to provide this information.

I'm hoping that tweeting to Ford will help, but if anyone knows any other phone line or anything I should be trying I'd be grateful.

I do appreciate all the kind words, too. Hoping this will end up a (at least somewhat) happy ending.

Maybe Ford’s presence here, @Ford Motor Company can direct you to the right place for help?
