Thank you everyone. I got back from the dealer. Out eating with my wife. So, I drove it. The car operated fine and I still want it.

Long and the short of it, a metal piece of debris flung up on the road and cracked the front fascia. It’s not as horrible as the dealer made it sound. So….. we have to order a new “grill” and the front bumper. They said it will take a week. I lol’d. So we’ll see. I didn’t take delivery but the GM said she will make things right with me. She also said she would give a good deal to my wife who wants an Edge ST. Ongoing saga but not as bad as my imagination thought. It will not go on carfax so there won’t be any diminished value. I haven’t paid for anything so I can still walk if they don’t hold up their bargain but after driving it, I want it
I somehow feel your pain, participating on this thread I have come to know most of you and I have found comfort in my own grumpiness with our interactions. I wish your Mach-E a speedy recovery and hopefully the GM can get you taken care of quickly and to your satisfaction.

I have only grumped here a few times because honestly, I feel guilty about grumping when there are people like @HuntingPudel and @Davedough who have been through hell with the waiting process. I feel like maybe this thread should be "Thread for people who placed a pre-order who have not received their cars even though millions of others have who didn't have a pre-order to be grumpy in". Then again, who am I to determine who should be grumpy and who should not? Once all the pre-orders are filled, I will be more comfortable showing my grumpiness.

Edit: don't want to forget @Plutoman15 and @Accord07. How can I justify being grumpy???

Seeing the whack and hearing the story, it brings to mind a song from long ago....

On the day I was born
The nurses all gathered 'round
And they gazed in wide wonder
At the joy they had found
The head nurse spoke up
Said "leave this one alone"
She could tell right away
That I was bad to the bone

Bad to the bone
Bad to the bone
B-B-B-B-Bad
B-B-B-B-Bad
B-B-B-B-Bad
Bad to the bone

so close i can taste it....but still grumpy. car made it to the Richmond Holding Yard on Tuesday and dealer was hoping to have it ready for me by Sunday. just got the email that Sunday wont happen and it'll likely be sometime next week.

it has to pass my house to get from the yard to the dealer. i'm the most impatient right now!

Dude driving said it was a piece of steel that hit the car
Well, I'm glad your car isn't too badly wounded and that the dude who was driving it is OK. One thing for me to be grumpy about is that unless you take delivery before it gets fixed, you'll probably be taking delivery after me (unless something happens to my car ?). At least you got to drive it ???

@veronicablack be warming up in that on-deck circle!

You know another crappy thing but super minor? I was so excited, I wore my special Mustang shirt. Maybe it’s unlucky

Well @Davedough im glad it wasn’t as bad as my imagination led me to believe. Still bummed though.
Just one more layer on a shit cake.

I hope the car is better than expected for you. To make all the hassle pay off.

The 10 minutes I had to drive it was pretty great. It’s going to be awesome

Ive just about had it with Ford !
Six weeks ago I finally got a build date after 6 months !
In the six weeks since getting the build date Ive gotten FIVE build week extensions of a week from Ford. ! .....two in the same week !
By the time I get my Premium it will be 8 to 9 months....yet a GT ordered two months after me from the same dealer is shipped and on the way.
Please someone explain this to me as my dealer does'nt have a clue

Well, I got my sister to go on the hour and a half or more drive with me to the dealer on Veterans Day. Now let's just hope my car gets on a transport and is delivered before then or I'll be grumpy again because my sister is gonna be pissed if she has to endure the ride there and back and lose a day of work for no reason. ??

Heh, it's just like us watching those non-reservation orders from June get delivered while our cars haven't even been produced. No rhyme or reason. Some people will defend Ford by saying it's "EV state" (baloney - I'm in the biggest EV state) or by saying "Dealer Allocation" (there are guys like @Plutoman15 who reserved 23 months ago still waiting for their cars while these non-rezzies already have delivery). There is absolutely no sense at all in this kind of stuff.

I feel for you. You've certainly been delayed more than me. I was only postponed twice and that was bad enough. ??
