Hi! Just got my car home - it was fully charged at dealership. I added a small charge at Whole Foods to test it out. No problem.
Tried to charge at home on the regular outlet - it starts for a moment on green - then goes to orange and says CHARGING PAUSED.
It would not resume no matter what. Tried multiple outlets. I'd get error messages saying "Unplugged" - which it's not.
Dealership is no help. And Ford Pass is no help. They said "you have to go charge it fully somewhere else before it works at home" which makes NO SENSE to me as it was charged at the dealership. Any help most appreciated! I'm down to 28%!

Have you tried using a different outlet on a different circuit?

Also did you make sure the connector is FULLY seated so it’s flush with the edge of the charger?

I tried different outlets in the garage - not sure what you mean by different circuit? Thanks!

I just got the car - so yes this is my first time trying to charge it at home. Using the regular outlet - I don't have the bigger one installed yet. Everything is pushed all the way in. I get the BLUE light to start - then it goes to ORANGE and says changing paused or 'unplugged' even when it's not.

Outlets that are on a separate breaker circuit. If you check your breaker box, it will usually be labeled with what each breaker circuit connects to. See if the garage outlets are on different breakers.

All the garage outlets could be on the same circuit. Maybe try plugging it in inside your house, use a thick extension cord if necessary.

Make sure the 120 V plug part is fully seated into the charger. This requires more force than you might think and has been an issue with others. Check this out here:

Also, it is possible your charger is broken which also happened to someone on that thread. Take it to the dealer and try charging it using your mobile charger on their outlet if reseating the plug doesn't work.

Also, you can check here for the interpretation of the LEDs...

Worse comes to worse do a few DC Fast charges when necessary until the get the problem straightened out. Good Luck, we all know how frustrating that must be.

This.. You would be amazed at how many new owners have charging issues because the adapter is not snapped in all the way to the charger.

I would even suggest pulling the plug out of the charger, then pushing it back in again. It takes a pretty good amount of force, the plug should be flush to the charger.

Also if push comes to shove, drive the car back to the dealer and use your charger to plug the car in. It could be possible that you have a bad unit.

Also agree with this, you really have to use quite a bit of force to get that 120v tail into in the charger - it needs to be completely within the charger, if it is sticking out, it likely is not all the way in and that final bit is the hardest part.

On the other hand, OP, I also had a wall outlet that works perfectly for everything else but just would not charge the Mach-E for whatever reason. Wouldn't trip or anything, just would not charge. If you have not yet done so, I also recommend trying a plug that is in a completely different part of your house as others have suggested.
