1: Ordered 8/1
2: Accepted 8/2
3: Scheduled for production week of 10/4, eventually pushed a week to 10/11
4: Entered Production 10/25
5: Complete 10/30
6: Shipped 11/10 with a final delivery ETA of 12/16 - 12/22
7: Arrived in KC and Transferred to Voltz Ramp 11/21 per PalsApp
8: Magic? NS 1-800 tracking never showed movement for me. I thought I was stuck in a rail yard.
9: Arrived to dealer today 12/8

Your experience illustrates how GTs are prioritized. My 4/27-ordered rapid red premium ER RWD was built 10/15, shipped 10/19, and has been sitting in a rail yard since 11/28—with a status of ‘on hold.’ My ETA slid from 11/21-11/27 to 1/3-1/89. SMH o_O

Bob: Do you have a good relationship with your dealership? After mine sat in a rail yard for 10 days my rep escalated it to her GM which then brought in Ford. It was subsequently marked as "hot" and hit the dealership within 3 business days. Not sure if it was coincidence or not, but I'm guessing it helped ;)

Your experience illustrates how GTs are prioritized. My 4/27-ordered rapid red premium ER RWD was built 10/15, shipped 10/19, and has been sitting in a rail yard since 11/28—with a status of ‘on hold.’ My ETA slid from 11/21-11/27 to 1/3-1/89. SMH o_O
Man that is unfortunate, I am sorry. My two thoughts are:

1: Is "on hold" for a physical issue with the car (ie: Stop Sale)?

2: Is it possible that there's a northeastern bound rail line and a southeastern bound rail line? There's more freight lines down here than people think, and I'm curious if my car took a different route from KC than yours eventually will.

Or maybe you're right, they are prioritizing more expensive sales to boost year-end numbers.

I think it’s a combination of prioritization and geographic location, as the supply chain mess varies from region to region.

Ford didn’t provide a reason for my car’s on hold status, so I have no idea why it’s sitting when it’s so close to my dealer.

Thanks to a suggestion from @RSM , I’ve reached out to my sales rep, who is going to ask his GM to escalate my situation with Ford. When @RSM did the same, his car showed up at the dealership 3 business days later. Fingers crossed it will work for me too!

At least I’ll know fairly soon if it does, as I can check on its status via United Road. If it changes to ‘pending,’ I’ll know that a truck has been scheduled…

I had done the same, the last anything i could find was on Palsapp, delivered in KC on 11/8.

To not scare people, you need to inform them that United Road doesn't have results because they aren't the logistics company servicing the MME load.

I spoke with a regional manager with United Road and the "OnHold" designation is a marker they use in their system to represent "waiting for orders" by the consigner, in this case, FoMoCo. This can be for a number of things, to include:
  • Pending load schedule by Ford
  • Incorrect invoicing for loads
  • Clerical errors by Ford (transposing VINs, origins, destinations, etc.)
The United Road manager told me specifically for Port Wilmington, DE pickups that they are plenty of staff to support, and they're seeing frequent "half loads" leaving AutoPort and heading to a destination dealer. So this discredits my previous observations of Ford "needing to have a full truck of deliveries".

I don’t know whether it’s random or not; I suppose it could be something they do to random vehicles to check on QA during the shipping process. If so, it’ll likely require a field rep to physically get there to check it. The wait continues…
