I understand that all the Nagas were killed for their hides, and it is probably politically incorrect or something to put real leather in vehicles these days. But what the heck is active X made of that is being used in the seats. Is this like a man made Pleather that Ford uses. What are people doing to care for it. Vinyl protectant or leather conditioner on it......Is it safe to wash with wet rag and mild detergent?

I wish they had a leather option myself, but you get what you get I guess.

Maybe it's a dumb question, but does Ford already use this material on any existing vehicles, or do they have samples?

I have synthetic leather in my RAV4 and it is very nice, holds up at least as well if not better than leather (I have always had leather in my cars because easier to clean).

Yes, active-x is in current Ford products on the lots today. The 2020 Explorer for example.

I think it's in the upper tier escapes as well

I should go check it out. One of the few things I don't like on my Honda are the seats. I spend a lot of time (too much) sitting in the driver seat so I want something comfy!

Hopefully it is like the "leather" seats in the C-Max--those were the most comfortable "leather" seats I've ever sat in.

My dealer sent me the order page for my Premium. The way it's listed there is "Perforated Vinyl Seats". I did a double-take when I saw that wondering if it he selected the wrong option or something. But I assume that refers to the Active-X (I'm not aware of any different option for the seats).

Does anyone know what the maintenance is like for these seats? I'm thinking about reserving the light gray but I'm hoping it won't be a pain to clean. I have experience with a light gray mbtex and those never got dirty

They are on other Ford vehicles, so you may be able to find our or someone here knows.

I plan on continuing use of my gold class spray.

Yeah I tried going through other Ford forums but there isn't much detail about it's stain resistance. I looked at the tesla forum to see how their white seats hold up and the answer is... poorly... I'm hoping it's as stain resistant and easy to clean as MB-Tex
