Talked to my dealer and confirmed that should our MME be delivered in 2021 we can inspect it and pay for it in 2021 as to be able to get the tax credit in 2021. We would leave it with dealer until the seat belt repair is completed sometime in January /February 2022.

Talked to my dealer and confirmed that should our MME be delivered in 2021 we can inspect it and pay for it in 2021 as to be able to get the tax credit in 2021. We would leave it with dealer until the seat belt repair is completed sometime in January /February 2022.
That is interesting, as they can sell it but can't give you the keys (wont get into PAAK haha).

I asked my dealer and they said they cannot sell it until the recall is complete. They can get fined.

I asked my dealer and they said they cannot sell it until the recall is complete. They can get fined.
I am wondering if my dealer fully understands the recall yet.

I am keeping expectations low and trying to focus on other things.

My dealer confirmed that my car is subject to the recall and (unprompted) offered to do the same. However, I plan to ask my tax preparer for her view on the tax implications.

Of course, this depends on making out of AutoPort purgatory. Still not confident I've even been unloaded (status for my rail car remains "TCO(or PCO) Port Wilmington, DE").

I spoke to my dealer tonight and they said there can be no final sale before the recall is repaired. I was hoping to hear what you did but unfortunately at least for my dealer they are telling me that per the recall they can not finalize a sale. ??‍♀

I was PCO or whatever for a couple of days. Next status I caught was “Actual placement of car” (as-in the railroad car) and then “U-N-L-D” (actually spelled out). My car was picked up by a truck that night and delivered to my dealer overnight.

I hesitate to post anything else with the mood of the thread around the unfortunate recall. I’m glad I bought that day—I had actually discussed picking it up a day later with my wife. Nothing but good things to say about the Ford Store San Leandro. Sold to me at ordered MSRP and were quite friendly and helpful. The finance manager had actually just bought a mach e a week earlier and was quite excited to talk about it and shared his favorite things about the car. My personal favorite so far is just the puddle lights when they decide to make an appearance. I’m loving the space white so far and the drive quality is quite commanding. Good luck to those out there still waiting, the wait is worth it.

Taking in everything that has happened and not happened so far, I would say that I am pleased with my local dealer. I ordered 7/15/21, built 11/2/21, shipped 11/3/21 with a revised (3xs so far) delivery of 12/23, which I suspect will be pushed out a 4th time.

I am of course frustrated with the situation but find that I cannot direct it at any one contributor. Covid? Ford? Other?

So used to getting what you want when you want it!

Westward Bay Area railcar Update - CNA 712351 - Out of Wyoming then through UTAH today- Now in East Nevada - recent location is Alazon at 3:56 PM which is near Wells ( Update arrived Elko at 6:19 PM)(the fax thing finally worked, see below, I had given up on it last week) about 500 + miles traveled today. Only about 500 miles remaining to the Benicia terminal Great Progress today! - The Sierra Nevada Range looms ahead before and after Lake Tahoe with more mountain passes, tunnels and looping grades to extend this mileage. ETA staying at 12/24 at 11:59 PM.

Beautiful route from Google Earth, see Tahoe in the distance - wish I was driving.....

There are two Union Pacific reports because I found it easier to say the railcar info 2-4 times and have them repeat from there (and mishear them) than start back from the first menu. I was 2/3 on this report. Reading the fax helps with the weird names - Eightenst, KS?!?! I thought Alazon was Allison, Ellison - I tried many.

Delivery has been pushed out yet again; 12/23 to 12/26. It’s not happening this year.

Mine is held up with the recall also. The dealer contacted me said I could buy it this year and they would hold it until it is repaired. I'm going in on Thursday to figure out if that's even allowed to happen.
