I got the 21p22 update a couple of weeks ago. Today was my first time to DC charge since then. Was expecting the improved taper but saw no evidence of it. Chargers were 62.5kW Chargepoint units. Saw a max of about 75kW but hit the cliff at 80%. Was there an update that “didn’t take”?

Does anyone know if GT and GTPEs have this charging cliff?

They might not have installed all of the updates. Mine is in the shop right now. They were supposed to do the 21P22 updates. They "did" them and called to say the car was ready. Luckily, someone checked and realized that they only did Page 1 on 21P22. So now they are keeping the car and will finish the updates tomorrow.

There have been several vids posted already showing that the 80% cliff had indeed been removed. The only plausible explanation that I can think of is that your dealer did not actually apply the correct update. Perhaps they applied a previous update?

Yes, my GT PE that I got 3 weeks ago has the 80% charging cliff.
Damn. assuming that will be the case with mine. Will be a bit of a pain in the ass for our xmas road trip.

I am wondering if it’s the charger? I used an EV Go the other day that shut me off at exactly 1 hour and 79%. Shut off and “disconnect your cord now”…..is what it said. I cannot wait to try a EA. Of course the closest EA is 170 miles away.

How did you get 75kW on a 62.5kW charger?
The newer charge point ones can do "sharing" where the adjacent 62.5kW charger can provide extra power to the first one if no one is plugged into it. You don't get double the power but you do get a little bit extra.
