It would bothered me less if we knew when our orders were converted to 2022s. I wonder if this is a supply issue.
Maybe it is a chip issue. If they have that one more chip from each car then more people get their cars sooner.

Mine is hot or miss, mostly miss, I probably look like a fool trying to get it to work. Easier to just push the button
Mine works

I was going through the ford.ca site just to see what might be the upcoming changes since they just updated/added the 2022 ordering option in the last few days. Apparently the kick-to-open is still available as part of the Comfort package (at least on the GT PE).

I'm not sure what this means... that Canada still has this feature? Or that they made a mistake including this on the order pipeline?

(I didn't see mention of acoustic glass. I didn't even know it was on my 2021 order, to be honest.)

I do a swipe rather than a straight kick. Think a pass in soccer. Works pretty well.
With that being said, if I had had a choice between kick to open and getting my car a month sooner, then I'd leave it off in a heartbeat. I can certainly see how some folks would view it as an important feature if they have difficulties manipulating the latch, but for me it's a boondoggle I can live without.

All of that is kind of immaterial, though. The fact is that they advertised the feature, confirmed the feature, then removed it without warning.
Not cool.

Ford have a long and sorry history of decontenting models, seems nothing changes at Ford :(. A few years back Ford CEO Hackett was blathering on about reductive design and how connected vehicles will help drive used features as they can use the data under the guise of it hardly being used to help reduce costs, which is odd as every time things go missing the price always remains the same. So I suspect more things to go AWOL over the model years.

If a CEO is talking about reducing costs there's a 0% chance they mean for the customer.

Once my 22 shows up any of you who claim to hate the hands-free feature want to sell me your wiring? I'll gladly take it off your hands.

And about and about and about and about and about.........
Mine works pretty well if I’m using the FOB. If I’m using PAAK? Yeah it’s not opening. I use PAAK 95% of the time.

I generally don’t have trouble using the kick to open feature (but don’t use it all that often).

From what I have seen in terms of people trying and failing to trigger it, the biggest issue I see with technique is people exaggerating the kick. Just give it a small, quick kick, front and back, not side to side. Don’t reach too far trying to extend your foot, don’t linger waiting for it to activate before pulling your foot back, nice and quick.

Like if a soccer ball was in front of you and you wanted to kick it to a small kid 10 feet away directly ahead of you.
