I had to look up what plugshare was. I thought it was like an airbnb where people can leave their car at someone's house to charge it up over night.
That is actually a cool idea. Although, I am not sure I would want total strangers showing up at My house. I imagine a few folks might like to make a buck or two that way? Maybe someone will come up with a new kind a Electron share & save. I should probably patent that quick.

well since people let strangers stay in their homes at airbnbs I figure just letting someone charge at home wouldn't be that big a deal (you could drive them to a hotel and pick them up in the morning for an extra fee). I got to think tow trucks will have generators on their trucks to give quick charges to people that will run out.

I think maybe if I had a charger in a carport or driveway, and space to move or park my car elsewhere when needed, then I'd consider listing on PlugShare. Otherwise I don't think I'd feel comfortable about it.

I think it would be a good idea for people that live near an interstate or rural area. Maybe near a beach or tourist destination. Don't think it would be likely for just a person in some random neighborhood

True, I am wondering about chargers that companies build for their employees to use during the week. Are those included on plugshare? I know in this area of NorCal, there are companies that have electric chargers for their employees.

Yes, sometimes they're listed. For example in this area, there are listings for Intel, Boeing, and Salt River Project employee locations. But they're mostly "Restricted," meaning that only people affiliated with the business get access.

Restricted example:

I’ll see about getting more this weekend but Cuautitlan is gearing up for mass production. Lots of stamping to get body parts ready. Mass Production 1 still planned for endOf the month, presumably FCTP units.

Body shop and battery assembly lines set to start MP1 on 9/14; paint shop on 9/17. Then the final assembly will be ready to make 420 MP1 units on 9/25.

Let’s hope for 99% quality!
Any one know what is done there as far as battery assembly? Pack?
Here's a newsworthy example. :)

If this hydrogen filling station ever comes online, Nikola might be able to demonstrate their trucks propelling themselves along flat roads and not just downhill gravity rides.
Hydrogen generates that whole transportation infrastructure again and trucking energy is again set up, producing more vehicles on the roads. Hope ground vehicles energy can be transported via an electrical grid (for most) as it is more efficient and costs less to tax payers. Getting our transports to step to hydrogen would be a start but hope not final. Hydrogen rockets on planes?

The real problem with hydrogen is that it is the smallest molecule and thus the hardest to contain in any type of tank. This means expensive and is one of the reasons the H2 economy hasn't taken off.

The problem with batteries for heavy-duty use (like semi tractor trailers) is their immense weight. Roads/bridges have gross vehicle weight limits, so adding thousands of pounds of batteries to pull that much weight reduces the load the trailer can carry.

That's where Nikola's plan for hydrogen trucks may have an advantage. As well as in much faster refueling, so that the truck's valuable time isn't lost to hours of recharging.

Problem is hydrogen fuel isn't the easiest to generate, and it's inefficient to transport it. Takes a lot of electricity to generate, which is why Nikola chose Arizona (which is where CA dumps much of their over-generation of solar). Better to generate it on-site at the refueling station.

I suspect we'll be moving to a more modular airport-like design for much of the nation's trucking, where trailers are moved from fueling-center to fueling-center and handed off to the next truck.

So a Ford employee posted on Twitter that they have their build date for their ME. @trutolife27 , do you have yours?
