The snow finally melted off enough for me to get my MME cleaned up and snap some pictures! Premium standard range AWD.

Went down from the stock 19” rims to 8” wide 18” rims and 245/55-R18 Continental Extreme Contact DWS06 all season tires. Rims and tires are both from Discount Tire. They did a great job on these (as they have on previous cars).

I wanted better cornering in the abundant roundabouts near my house but also a smoother ride for my passengers. I also didn’t want to have to hit the railroad crossings by my house at 3 mph like I had to in my Tesla model 3. I succeeded on both fronts. Cornering is vastly improved but the larger sidewall and lower pressure let’s me go over the railroad tracks a lot faster.

Looks great. I like your thoughts on the tire size and ride quality. Rims look sweet.

According to your Ebay site, these stems are NOT compatible with the Mach-E. Did they work? I've got a GTPE...what model is your's?
Hey Steve, sorry I just saw your post. I have been painting the entire interior of my home the last couple of weeks and not on the forum as much lately.

Ebay is wrong as those are the ones I got and they work. Here is the post back in April of last year when I mentioned these TPMS's. #34

Back then I had them installed in the new wheels and tires I got for my Premium. I cannot even remember if I had to program them or not but don't think so. I took that setup off my Premium when I sold it and put them on my GTPE. I didn't have to do a thing. The GTPE recognized the sensors right away and all has been well the last 3 months.

Nice! I just bought the DWS06+, too, for my GTPE. Too cold here to ride around on the summer tires that came with the car. Going to put them on this week. Looking forward to not worrying about these summer tires sliding around in frigid temps lol

@Ride_the_lightning That’s awesome! What rims did you get?
The rims are Voxx Paso 18 X 8” w machined face. They were surprisingly cheap (under $200 per wheel, the tires were more than the wheels). I’m sure they are not the lightest in the world, although still lighter than stock by a few pounds given they are an inch smaller in diameter. I didn’t check the weight of the new wheels against stock, so I may be a bit heavier, but don’t really care.

2021 Mach-E Premium RWD (Standard Range)
Country flag
Hi All,
After reviewing 17 pages just wanted to make sure I'm getting the right idea here, as this is the first time I've contemplated changing factory wheels on a vehicle.
MME Premium RWD, in the tropics 68-87 degrees F so no snow but can have significant rain/flooding.
Looking to increase traction on turns, stopping, and minimize bumps where potholes magically appear after a heavy overnight rain, daily commute has some fairly sharp turns on wet roads while exiting or entering tunnels at speeds of 45-60mph, commute is usually 30 miles daily so loss of range is not an issue.
Not going to be racing in a Premium RWD so will keep all tires the same size and I usually buy tires from Costco as shipping tires to the islands cost half as much as the tires.
Most common size changes stated on this thread with highest end Costco tires in my area:
245/45/20 Costco set of Bridgestone Turanza Quiettrack for $957
255/45/20 Costco set of Bridgestone Dueler H/P Sport for $1433
Interestingly the default size 225/55/19 is not in stock in my area

So tire wise 245/45/20 seems to be a more durable and affordable tire option. Based off others responses rims are about dead even between 20x9 and 20x8.5 with offset varying from 35-50. How do I narrow down the rim width and offset?
Thanks

The stock offset on the GTPE's wheels/tires with 245/45/20's is 45mm. The GTPE has a wheel width of 8". If you go with 245's, 8-9" is fine. 255's, I'd lean towards 9". HOWEVER, wider wheels produce less sidewall bulge...which gives you more responsive, and stiffer, handling. It's up to you...

That looks awesome, and I have garage envy. Got my epoxy floor done, next is high lift garage doors and insulating the walls and ceiling and heating it.

Is that a light on the ceiling?

I just got these in. Hoping these will do the job without any hassle. They were $123 after tax from Veritek Performance (xS Distributers).

Is that price each, or a pair? I never researched buying them. Keep us posted please. Thanks

I always get my sensors from TPMS.com, with the upgraded black metal stem option. I’ve used both Huf and Shrader sensors on previous Fords. Here is the link for Mach-E sensors.

https://www.tpms.com/2021-Ford-Mustang-Mach-E-TPMS-s/10056.htm

TPMS.com sells the pairing remote as well. You can also get this on Amazon for about $15.

You should look at TuffSeal tiles before doing epoxy. Cheaper, replaceable and a lot less work to install.
