TSB 22-2117 - Fix for Stuck Power-Up 1.7.1 Update

Stuck since October on 1.7.1
Dealer performed 22-2117 and 21G01 last week.
OTA 2.5.2 received and successfully installed today. Progress!!!

Still on sync 22028 rev 358 though, and the Connected Services page says I have no connected services.

You need to receive OTA 2.5.3 to get sync rev 364.

Day 2 at dealership was yesterday. They said they were making better progress, but the update failed. If it fails 5x times in a week, does it brick the car for a week? I think I saw that earlier in the thread.

If it fails 5 times successively. Not sure what the wait time is in-between attempts in order for it to not lock up though

BlueCruise activation comes with 2.5.2. The Sync update in 2.5.3 comes shortly after, but it’s technically not required for BC.

Sorry for all the questions. Now that connected services is back online, I see a place to activate BlueCruise, but it says it’s $600. How do I get the complimentary year?

Your free year will automatically start when all the BlueCruise updates are applied. You don’t need to manually activate anything.

If your car is Job 1, your free year will automatically start when all the BlueCruise updates are applied.

If it doesn't, connected services has been having issues which could cause issues

Doesn’t brick the car, just won’t allow that update to be applied for 5 days.

Just got the car back. It took the dealership 4 days to complete the TSB and associated updates. They claimed there were no issues on their end but Ford servers were "slow". They also replaced my Gateway Interface Module. They claimed that Blues Cruise was successfully added.

Looks like I am no longer stuck on 1.7.1. I can now toggle automatic updates, the new game apps have appeared on main screen. Apple Maps direction now show on center display. Sync software version from the widget says SYNC4 v4.0.21281, .

But no Blues Cruise (as far as I can tell). My EA page on internet shows I am "enrolled" in BlueCruie. I cannot find anything on settings referencing BC, and when I toggle active cruise control, it also looks the some. Do I still need to receive some OTA update or activation?

Any one in the Atlanta, GA area got TSB 22-2117 applied successfully to get the 1.7.1 update unstuck. If so, what dealer? Angela Krause Ford of Roswell hasn't given me a lot of confidence in their ability to handle this.

OTAs seem to be getting more aggressive and actually scheduled as of last week, even though 2.4.2 dosen't work. OTA 2.4.2 has failed every day for the last week, I was able to even try to applying it the same day going back to the car, but it just fails every time.

Is the 5 day lockout gone, or doesn't apply to OTAs?

Doesn't apply to OTA or 21G01. It only applies to the APIM recovery tool used in TSB 22-2117

Gotcha, thanks. Will likely end up going to the dealer as 2.4.2 was the first stick update, didn't realize it was unrelated to the 1.7.1 issue.
