Price protection aside, still interested in how this play out for cars in production/in transit where window stickers are already issued. Will they be reissued with the higher price come April 13 or will it only impact new window stickers going forward? The last price increase impacted no cars in production as it came before any MY22 cars had started production.

It will only impact cars built after 4/13. Ford will not be re-invoicing cars built prior to 4/13

But there are also folks earlier in this thread talking about cars not getting invoiced until they pass through Kansas City?

A great city. I'm sure the ordering process is different for our Canadian Friends.

I have two orders on exactly the same car.

I ordered CA RT1 on 11/28 from my closest dealership. It took awhile for the Dec 8 price change to hit my order, but when it eventually showed up in late January, I asked my dealership about price protection. They told me there was none, and that they would charge me the price on the window sticker (plus $1.5k in accessories). I was furious.

I didn’t like that I had absolutely no leverage, so I decided to make a backup plan. I ordered exactly the same car from another dealership on 1/31, and confirmed that they would not be including accessories.

Today I called both of them. The dealership for Order #2 confirmed that I will be price protected right away. Dealership from Order #1 essentially said they didn’t know. They said that they were asking their regional rep. I asked for a call back when they knew, and they downplayed any price protection. They explained the protection that happened with the MY21/22 change and said, “it would be a small amount, not the full value.” He then went on to let me know that I shouldn’t worry, “because any increase won’t be by much.” I let him know that the increase is $5,000. He changed his tone and told me he’d get back to me.

I am now very happy I placed a second order. I have absolutely no faith that my first order will have any price protection. I wish I had just done my research back in November. These rules differ based on the dealership. You gotta get word from your specific dealership to be sure of anything.
No customer needs to go through this trouble. Ford is doing the right thing in increasing prices and trying to make more from the current demand. The only thing they could have done is helping their existing customers who are waiting for their cars to not go through this pain by having some kinda disclaimer on their order saying your price is protected. Instead Ford is just leaving everything to dealers and leaving their customers at the mercy of these dealers.

Window stickers can and have changed after available to first view online. After the December increase it didn’t start reflecting on window stickers until sometime in January. Everyone freaked out. But seems like most people got the original price in the end.

Good point, I did not address this. The obtaining a signed and dated order sheet, is SO pre online and outdated. I have screen shots of my online order from Ford's online ordering site, so, that's an east one to smack down; that said, I'll feign whataboutism when the guy that was to present me with a signed and dated order sheet, because he got fired! No matter, I have screen shots from the ordering system.
I believe the on line was just a reservation. The deal becomes an order after you pick a dealer and the dealer confirms/accepts the order. Ford can not sell vehicles directly to a consumer. Unfortunately the dealer is Ford’s customer and you are the dealers customer. Ford may be trying to change this approach by separating ICE vehicle sales and EV’S but not there yet.

The "Reservation" is the stage before ordering opens up. You get in line with a reservation, before you actually order, which may have been the case for Mach-E in the beginning. For me, I ordered, paid $500 deposit and got an email from ford, thanking me for the order, all on the same day 12/3/21

I could not justify CaliRoute 1 5k price increase, but will keep my current order so I could sell it for some greenes.
All your profits would be absorbed by taxes. Even with the 5k price increase, and you were able to sell a used car, that doesn’t qualify for the $7,500 tax rebate, at the increased MSRP, you would only break even because you paid 5k in taxes on that car to the government.

I did not use this process so can’t say much. I do know the $500 dollars is sent to the dealer of your choice. My guess is somewhere it is mentioned that the order needs to be confirmed by the dealer. So perhaps the order is started with Ford but is not finished until accepted by the dealer who is ultimately who you ordered from. Ford just acts as the middle man in the ordering process. It would be nice if this changes in the future.

A $6,000 price increase for the GT trim in the past four months? Wow. I'm glad I got my order when I did.
My order went in Oct on a GTP. Price increase twice. Hope they honor the original price. I signed a doc and deposit.

I'm not saying that procedure doesn't exist, I've scoured every Mach-E site that I could find and I found nothing except random comments, so I'm a bit skeptical.. If this is what Ford wants, why direct folks placing orders to pick a dealer, take your credit card and deposit? Just seems off. I think we've all experienced dealerships that just seem to be riffing; making things up. When I asked my dealership about the parking assist being removed and asking, if I agreed to this and even signed something (that I saw in one comment), would that speed things along, he was completely unaware. Then this last week, I get the email that something changed with my order and when I looked, I see the $325 credit for the removal parking assist.. This happened all by itself. Oh, yesterday, dealership calls with bad news... Telling me that it's been removed from my order.. LOL

Ford in general does need to work on the communications process! Challenge for dealer is they do not make the car nor set up shipping. All they get is info fed back into the system. And when there are holds and delays there is no easy way they can gather information other than their reporting systems. In my case there were no issues. It is taking the entire projected 66 days to transit. I checked my VVR weekly and much of the time nothing changed. I am not in a rush so no big deal and never queried into the why of it. The VVR does indicate all the stops along the way. My Mach just sat awhile in KC, then took 21 days to rail to Tacoma, only 4 days to barge to Alaska, but has been sitting in Anchorage for 7 days. My point is so many things feed into the reports that I can see why there is confusion and unfortunately the dealer is not in control of any of it either. Also in my case mine is the only Mach coming thru at the moment so not really a high sales priority (couple more in the pipeline.) I think dealers are doing their best to keep their customers as informed as possible in the current situation of high demand, low availability, supply shortages and even shipping delays due to truck driver shortages.
