Safety Recall 22S41 - 2021-2022 Mach E - HVBJB Recall [high voltage battery main contactors may overheat]

That's more likely, honestly, and why I'm concerned this is a "software" fix. If contactors are getting welded shut, you have to assume it's a heat-related issue. The only way (I can think of) that software is fixing it is throttling either charging or performance or both.

Actually the best way to weld any relay contactor shut is to open or close the contacts under load which in this case includes charging, driving or regen. SW controls this.

It could also be what happens to relay current flow with a quick lift off the pedal when at full power. (flow reverses quickly from draw to charge) There are a lot things that could happen beyond just full power current draw to weld the contacts.

I used DCFC exactly twice since I bought my Mach-e, even then it was just to ensure it actually worked. But I tell you guys, this possible recall has me so worried that I stopped off at Shell ? Recharge on the way home from getting groceries just to get some better grade electrons. Can one of you tell me if I’m doing this right?

This lines up well with what my dealer had mentioned about the HV battery issues I had last year and that a software fix was the main solution (unless 1 or more of your battery modules ruptured already like mine did).

Just consider Q2 or Q3 2021 promised Blue-Cruise update (not sure it's been too long!) and add a year . Then it should read Q3-2023

Interesting...then would that confirm this is a software update and not something hardware? Even for GTs?

And then going along that line of thinking...seems like we'll be getting throttled acceleration even more.
