Fingers crossed, my good, sir. I really hope your car is rock solid after this so you don't get rid of it!
I know, me too. He’ll have to find another yellow EV for his YouTube channel, and well actually, that still wouldn’t work haha.

Well, looks like I jinxed myself somehow. My car just failed exactly as @scoopman

I did NO DCFC and never have. I drove it the 15 mile, 90% highway commute to work at 9am this morning and just drove home and service vehicle soon and the reduced power popped away shortly after the freeway. I did use power a few times to pass people on the freeway and once after I exited. The pop up happened shortly after I made a pass, which wasn’t pedal to the metal or from a stop. Was going about 30 and pumped to 40-45.

Not a hot day at all, mid to low 70s and the car was kept in a parking structure that was cool all day at work.

I went home and parked. Car turns back on and drives, for now, we will see in the morning. Tried a few dealers, all are lame and won’t get me in for a few WEEKS! Hoping Tuttle Click Ford in Irvine calls me back tomorrow and gets me in.

I'm glad I haven't flashed this POS software ... I'm telling people to hold off. But this shouldn't be about me. Glad you're safe and able to post about it. The more we learn the better. Sorry you had to experience it though.

Isn’t it better to have software and get home then be stranded in the middle of nowhere?

Unless it's being overly sensitive and "bricking" cars that shouldn't be bricked. I'm not saying that's the case, but I flash everything almost the day it comes out. I haven't on this one. Maybe it's just a gut feeling I have.

I don't consider a car that won't turn on = to "being stranded". But to each their own.

What an unacceptable disaster it is how Ford is handling this. So sorry that I might have jinxed you ?

There is a good chance it is overly sensitive and in that case I will get the new part quicker and really won’t be bricked just slowed. I hope.

I just hope it happens locally . My dealer is 3 miles from my home

You could be right, trusting Ford is a difficult proposition

@Neil4Real you should probably consider making another thread on your issue so that it can be tracked easier than within these really large threads by myself and Scoop.

It’s good that you were still able to drive it.

To be honest, I wonder if clearing codes might get the power limiter to go away. I know with other cars in the past a rough way to see if an issue is really an issue is to clear the code and see if it comes back. If it comes back immediately, it’s an issue (or bad sensor). If it never comes back, it was a fluke. If it comes back but only rarely, you can probably delay addressing it.

I don’t think I would do that here without getting a dealer to commit to replacement even after you clear the code so as to not deal with it again or potentially cause a different issue, but my money is on Ford’s software put in a sensitive tripwire to get a service soon message pop up if they think you are at risk for HVBJB failure since your car turned back on.

I was able to clear the power limiter wrench by clearing DTC codes. But I don't think you should ignore the warning the software is giving you or drive it with anything other than low power
