LOL! This is what is driving me nuts. I want to lift the car with a floor jack and lower it onto jack stands. You have to be crazy or stupid to get under a 5K pound hunk of steel and lithium with just a handful of cheap hydraulic fittings keeping it in the air. :D

With most cars, I'd use a central lift point, in either the front/rear of the vehicle or on the sides, and then put the jack stands on the two lift points flanking the central one. That way you can get four jack stands in place with two lifts. Its pretty efficient and not too much of a PITA. With the Mach E only having the four corner jack points, I have no idea how I would safely lift it.

Hopefully someone can show in detail the proper and safe procedure for getting the Mach E onto jack stands, because while I have been drooling over Quick Jacks for years, I'm not excited about paying for them :D
JackPoint Jack stands are an option for cars that only have the four lift points, as some do. Since our cars have support, I use the same truss bar that @markboris uses to lift the whole side, then install my modified Corvette Jack pads and then lower onto stands. I still don’t trust the car with pads and stands very much, but it seems to work fine when I try to shake the car. I haven’t been under it yet though, just rotated the tires. ??

I might still get some JackPoint stands though. ??

Yes it is solid.

You may have missed my earlier post in this thread but these are what I use for the Mach-E and also other cars like Mustang coupes that have pinch welds. They do not bend, break, crack, etc. They fit perfectly in the section where the Mach-E should be supported. Of course you can make your own out of wood or whatever which should work fine for the Mach-E but I lift more cars than that so it is nice to have these for various applications. https://www.quickjack.com/accessories/pinch-weld-blocks/

Just ordered a set of these. You can get them on Amazon (prime eligible):

Thanks for the tip!

Has anyone found a solution similar to a "jack puck" product for the Mach-E, to make unknowing shops more aware of where to lift? I'm seeing products like this for Tesla, Rivian and Hyundai/Kia EVs.

I have a set of modified rubber Corvette lift pucks in a bag in my car. Our cars are weird in that they have a pair of round holes and a pair of obround (oval) holes at their lift points. Some fool at Ford needs to be fired for that, why not keep them the same? Anyhow, the Corvette pads are made for a specific obround hole that has a smaller minor dimension than ours and a larger major dimension than ours (and it just won’t fit into the round hole). The mod is simple. Just cut one of the arms off of the ”T” with a set of diagonal cutters, and you’re ready to install. ??

The cladding helps to keep them in place so you can get a lift under them, but don’t leave them there when driving or you might lose them. ??

Is there an updated version of the pdf available?

Why would Ford not include these with the car if needed to jack or lift the car? Just took my car in to get new set of tires on and the local tire shop called me after i dropped the car off. I was like, no one told me I needed this. I rotated my tires at the dealership and I guess they have them in the shop.

your best protection is to permanently install pucks yourself so tire shops don't screw up. Really should be available from factory.... are you listening @Ford Motor Company ?

There a lot of questions through threads on how to jack / lift Mach-E. Maybe some variations are okay, particularly if the load is spread.

From the pdf, there is a very specific area between the triangle marks on the plastic strips which is suggested. It is the just under 3" strip inside of the aluminum rails with holes which are actually part of the battery pack and which aluminum battery rails are not to be used for jacking lifting (?), and which can be ripped (shipping example), or crushed.

The approved lift or jack area is the thin strip between /the outside plastic strip (with the triangles) and /the inside aluminum rectangular battery rail.

In the lift examples, it would seem that many reviewers are technically lifting incorrectly using the rectangular aluminum channel, instead of outer metal (steel?) strip.

I guess (?) to lift at least technically correctly, it takes something like a rubber jack pad / block that can be between the typically wider jack head surface and the relatively thin (2 1/2" to 3") metal rail which is inside of the rectangular aluminum battery member.

From the pdf:

So, this (wrong?) example is probably near or between the triangles, but on the wrong member, the aluminum rectangular rail:

This appears to be another wrong (?) example as to the jack, the safety stand appears to be on the correct strip:

I had mine in the shop The other other day I just handed them those little pucks that I got from Amazon and they put them in the little holes that correspond and they lifted right up in the air. I didn’t think there was a major issue doing this?

I started looking for this information the other day after reading about a Tesla owner who ran into trouble jacking up his car. While looking at the PDF it strikes me that there is no safe way to jack up the car and then place it on jack stands, since there is no central jacking point.

I also watched the video that Benjamin posted just to see if there was any insight there. The guy manged to get one side of his Mach E on to jack stands, but did not mention how.

Any thoughts?

*edited a word*
One guy lifted on the 4th bolt back on the side rail. It was center of mass on a GTPE.

I wouldn’t do that simply because of concentration of mass. I would rather use a load apreader. ??

You've mentioned in a few posts that you use some sort of wooden load spreader when lifting your mme. Can you kindly elaborate, illustrate, demonstrate?

I found a way to jack the Mach E up and place jack stands all in the approved lift points only.

You need:

1) Amazon 2.5 ton scissor jack

2) OTC 2-ton jack stands, or other small round-based jack stand

3) Four ~6.5" long pieces of 2x4

Cut the 2x4's to length to fit in the jack point areas. Then use a 3/4 spade bit to drill pockets in the 2x4's where the frame rail bolt heads protrude into the jack point areas.

This works on all four corners of the car.
