I brought mine in today for the 10K service. Luckily I read this forum and saw most people were just paying for the tire rotation. This dealer was going to charge me $150-$180 for the service/inspection, to check the brakes, fluids, etc. So after waiting 3 weeks for the appointment, I said no thank you and walked out. This seems so counter to what everyone else is experiencing. An oil change is less than that and it comes with the inspection. What am I missing?

I'd find another dealer. That price is outrageous!

I will have close to 8k on mine when I bring it in for a 10k prior to a long road trip. Was quoted $25 for the 10k!

Not as a preventative maintenance item no. If the battery is removed for some reason then maybe...

Not exactly. To jump start the battery you access leads through a small door or panel in the front passenger side bumper. Pretty cool set up to minimize the need for access to the actual battery.
Errā€¦ no. That ā€œmightā€ get you into the frunk. Once there, after you remove the chilled šŸ¤ shrimp or hot wings šŸ— you can play plastic Lego removal toys to find the 12v buried underneath. Those relay leads will not charge the 12 V. youā€™re lucky you havenā€™t had to find out yet

Closing in on 10K now, currently at 9800 miles. I had the tires rotated at 6500 miles back in February. I will probably wait till its time for another tire rotation before I take it back in.

Why did you rotate them so soon before 10k?

From my experience with MB GL 10k is to much. Had warranty issues with brand new tires. Since then I always rotate tires on my cars between 5k-7k, this is manufacturers recommendation and warranty term. Take in consideration how heavy is MME nearly as the same as MB Iā€™ll rotate tires around 5k.

Yeah I just figured it was OK to do at 10k since thatā€™s what Ford recommends for MME

If you have AWD then you probably don't even need to rotate them at all. I have measured my tires every 5k miles since new and they wear evenly at each corner. I did rotate around 19k miles if I remember correctly. Just to check out other things while I was down there. Haven't rotated since and now at 45k miles. Still have 5/32" at all four corners. I guess it depends on driving style. I seem to punish the rears just enough to balance the extra wear the fronts get by scrubbing through turns.
