Completed all the updates left on my April 2022 GT-P using FDRS for the first time. Thanks to all the great advice in this thread! Went off without a hitch. Finally have my easy entry working consistently! Phone as a key working more reliably as well. Still not sure the wireless charging issue is solved. First drive and my iPhone 12 Pro was still getting overheating messages. Also, doesn’t seem to actually charge the phone when CarPlay is activated… just keeps it from draining. Is this normal?

Couple additional things:
  • Had this strange steering behavior when turning the wheel to the very end either direction where it would bounce off the detentions and turn a little more. That was resolved! YAY!
  • The touchy brake pedal - particularly when coming to a stop - is much better. Now they just have to smooth out stopping with pedal driving+auto hold.

You are eligible for CSP 21P22 in addition to the recall programming (22S41). And I'm guessing you've never gotten an OTA ever. Either that or you're one of those who's systems are 'stuck' and can't get updates., cause this list is the largest I've seen in a while:

Best,

Mike
Wow and ouch!

Many thanks @Mike G

Yes the car has been stuck for sometime and I need to get this list cleared.

The dealer has me down for:
21S42 - MACH-E PANORAMIC ROOF ADHESION
21C22 - MACH-E WINDSHIELD ADHESION
21P22 - MUSTANG MACH-E - SOFTWARE UPDATE REQUIRED

We lease the car so we don't have a friendly dealer where they would do the updates out of goodwill, so they're quoting what they can charge back to Ford. I think it'll be an interesting conversation when I take the car in.

How long did it take to do all the updates? I’ll probably do my Friday. Got the mongoose wait for the charger from Amazon.

I’m under the understanding that the day and time is for installation only. Your update will download at anytime.
I was told by the Ford OTA department that it depends on the type of OTA. Some are automatic regardless of the schedule and some require a schedule like the 22S41 since the car can not be driven while the OTA is downloaded.

UPDATE 3: Still an issue. I reinstalled the app and added the car and once again the OTA schedule defaulted/changed back to Thursday at midnight. I have a trip tomorrow so I wanted nav and charging. I will try and not to nose in at EA tomorrow and no WOT. FMC OTA department worked hard to resolve it. I have a case number and will call them on Wednesday. Seems very strange that the schedule stays correct in the app and faults in the car. I am doing scheduling in the car. Any ideas anyone?
UPDATE 4. FMC OTA department told me today that they suspect that Power Up 1..7.1 is hung up (known issue) and this is causing the schedule to be corrupted. TSB 22-2150.

The 22S41 requires a schedule since the car can not be driven during the update. Other minor OTA do not require a schedule. So two, distinct type of OTA.

So I called the dealer and they can not get me in until Sep 22. I have a lot of updates and they wanted to allow for 2 full days. If the car bricks I will have to ask for priority or go to another dealer.

Hi. Could someone run my VIN (via PM) to check what SW updates are pending? Thanks.

Set the OTA schedule for Wednesday at 1:00 AM.

So obviously it didn't run at 1 AM, but do you know for sure that it is downloaded to your car? Did FMC OTA department verify that? If so, it will be interesting to see if it runs at midnight today, according to the schedule that the car displays.

Regarding 1.7.1 - did they specify what module needs to be updated for the schedule to work? I don't think that GT/Job2 cars had 1.7.1 OTA, its updates were a part of the initial software load. My car had only 3 modules without updates as of 8 days ago (thanks to @Mike G) and none of them seems to be related to OTA scheduling:

I'm not sure if this is the right topic for this, but I just successfully got the recent recall OTA for the battery, but the dealer told me their system still shows that the recall needs to be done. They have my car to do the Blue Cruise updates and said they'll take a look at the recall as well.

Would anyone be able to check if the recall is still pending? And if the Blue Cruise updates are done after the recall, would that affect whatever the recall updated?

My VIN is 3FMTK1SS6MMA42456

My car had only 3 modules without updates as of 8 days ago (thanks to @Mike G) and none of them seems to be related to OTA scheduling:
When I spoke to them today they said the 22S41 did not download because there was not a scheduled time. This OTA requires a scheduled time along with the conditions of: driven for 30 minutes, stopped and parking brake on, ignition off and recently charged. This is because the car is not driveable while this type of OTA is downloading/installing.

The other issue is that when the schedule defaults it goes to Thurs 12: and the minute fields are blank. So the time is incomplete and any setting at 12 PM or AM is to be avoided per FMC.

They did not specify the module for Power Up 1.7.1. She said that based on history a failed update 1.7.1 created an OTA schedule problem.

Thread OTA 1.7.1 Stuck, anyone else have issues updating is 125 pages long. I will try and slog through it to see if I can find anything relevant to my situation

If you are interested you can reach the FMC OTA department at (833) 926-3233. They may be able to answer your questions better than I can.

It is interesting if true - my understanding is that the updates can be downloaded at pretty much any time when the car has the internet connection via WiFi or 4G, but installations for some of them are done based on the scheduled time. But what do I know...

I guess it's an offtopic here anyway.

One thing I noticed when I took the shields off under the hood is the coolant level was at minimum (cold car). Anyone else see this? Tried to put car In unbridled extend and get a powertrain malfunction/reduced power warning and wrench in cluster. Goes away with power off/on. Glad I got the 2-day license.

Taking my covers off Friday to do my updates. Check under your car and make sure you don’t have any leaks. When you add coolant make sure you use Fords recommended coolant.
