Autel MaxiCharger AC Wallbox Home 40A - NEMA 14-50 - EV Charger. A relatively new product but the company is well established. $559.95 from Amazon or direct from Autel USA. This is a smart charger with a 3 year warranty and Energy Star compliant. This product is eligible for a $300 rebate from my local electric utility (PNM New Mexico). There are a few recent reviews on Youtube (Mache VLOG for one). I ordered directly from Autel and it is on its way.
Did you get it and install. I might order one. Curious on your thoughts.

also how long is the corded to plug it in?

Here is Autel's reply to that question: " The Autel ev charger is CSA certified, which is UL compliant. And we also have ENERGY STAR certification."
There are different levels of testing required for US vs Canada. Just because a device meets one does not mean it meets the other. Here are the approval marks and their definitions.

If the EVSE is CSA listed for use in the US, it must have one of two marks in the center of the bottom row. The ones on the left and right don’t count.

I found this in Autels booklet. Does this make a difference.

Safety and Compliance
NEC Article 625 and UL 916, UL 2594, UL2231-1, UL2231-2, UL 1998,
CSA C22.2. No.280

Newbie here. Apologies in advance. I ordered a Grizzl e for a “plug in 50 amp welder solution” based on recommendations from this forum. My questions: I’m getting an 80 amp Ford Charge Station Pro (FCSP) and Ford Mobile Charger (FMC) with a Lightning ER / Max Tow. Will I have to derate the hard wired 80 Amp FCSP for the Mach-E GTPE ER or can the Mach-E regulate or handle a full 80 amps thru the FCSP’s J1172. Thanks in advance and sorry for my question if it’s been beat to death elsewhere.

Not really. Those are the standards they claimed to meet. If it’s listed by either UL or CSA, they will have a listing file number for their unit than can be looked up on the respective agency’s website.

UL file numbers begin with “E-“. I’m not sure about CSA.

The Mach-E will charge at the highest charging rate it's capable of which is 48A. You don't have to do anything. If your FCSP can set the charging rate, you can lower it below 48A if you want.

I live in Portland and needed an outdoor charger that could stand up to weather. Bought and had a Grizzl-E installed. Works great. Absolutely zero complaints. Only hiccup I've had was a power outage put it into some sort of fault mode. I flipped the breaker at the fuse box and it was fine.

I don't need any smart utilities. Car and app take care of that.

I had an Alpha charger EVSE...same motherboard as the Grizzle-E. It would shut down whenever ambient temp exceeded 90°. Then a car hit a power pole near me...it fried the Alpha to permanently dead. Called the Alpha technical service # on Monday...haven't received a call-back or email as of the following Friday. Bought an Autel MaxiCharge yesterday, for about $150 less than the Alpha. Guess my recommendation?

Looking at Amazon today and the Autel is 559 and then a 20% discount for one with separate holster

is There any interface issues with a smart charger and the MME to be aware of. Kinda settling on the basic grizzle-e but the smart ones are alluring. Of concern is how reliable the onboard scheduling function is for charging to take advantage of the lowest charge times
The Grizzl-E is a good, solid EVSE, but I wouldn't recommend the smart version. The issue for me is that I can't connect it to my home wi-fi. The Grizzl-E transmits at 2.4 GHz, and our home network is 5 GHz (although it's supposed to be dual band). I reached out to Grizzl-E support who ended up recommending that we change our wi-fi setting to 2.4 (which was a no-go with hubby!).

The Grizzl-E is working fine, but I regret paying for the smart features that I won't ever use.

You don't have to change all to 2.4, you can enable the 2.4 band with a different SSID in the router settings. That way everything else is still the same and you'll connect the EVSE to the new 2.4 SSID.

We tried that, actually. As soon as we reverted back to the dual-band ("whole home") setting, I could no longer connect to the 2.4 SSID.
