That would be sweet!!Ok that makes a lot more sense. ?
I was trying to search Google to see if a Bronco EV came out that I hadn't heard about.
Lol. Pretty sad. You would think that with throwing that eight banger in there he would get better than 266 hp with his new hybrid.Holy shit! Phil Long has the ultra rare 8 cylinder Mach-E. Right here:
New Ford Cars and Trucks For Sale in Denver at Phil Long (phillongdenver.com)
Why would anybody ever even talk to this dealership????
This is just another way of saying it will keep happening forever. As long as we (well some of we) keep paying the premium, it will keep happening.
Supply will eventually catch up.This is just another way of saying it will keep happening forever.
And it will continue forever. Because supply and demand.
The OP was about ADM in general and points out that the pic is not about a MME... just another Ford product.Am I missing something here? Is the Bronco an EV?
For some reason, when I first saw the thread, I thought I had missed an announcement for a Bronco EV. I mentioned it earlier but I actually searched Google to try and verify it... lolThe OP was about ADM in general and points out that the pic is not about a MME... just another Ford product.
Agreed. The only thing I really dislike is when the dealer lies or hides the ball or tries to pull 11th hour shenanigans. My local Ford Dealer had a Lightning on the lot. $50k ADM ?!?!?
Here's my stance on ADM. Do I like it? NO. But is it part of the free market and supply/demand? YES.
Everyone has the right to do as they please, and my personal (let me stress that) opinion is this:
1) For awhile the dealers were kinda starving for something to sell with COVID and supply chain issues. So there was some lean months. So for them to be able to charge SOME ADM on vehicles hot on the market right now to make up for some of that doesn't really make me that angry. When I say "some" I'm thinking $2-$5k. Now the dealers out there asking $20k+ ADM can go straight to hell for being super greedy.
2) For vehicles in general, but specifically ones like the MME. There is such a shortage, and such a long wait to even order one from the factory that some level of over MSRP to get it now vs waiting also makes sense to me. I mean if you don't want to pay it, then be patient and you'll get it. But some people are willing to pay it to have it now.
3) In my personal situation, I was looking to buy a MME, but by the time I decided to start looking (about 2 months ago) you couldn't order a 2022 anymore from Ford, there was essentially zero in stock on the whole West Coast that weren't already customer orders, and if you could find one, it was absolutely over MSRP with an average of $10k ADM (from my research these last couple of months). So I called about 30 dealerships in WA, OR, CA, put my name on their call lists should one become available at the dealerships selling at $10k ADM or below (didn't bother at the dealerships asking $10k+ ADM) and just kept looking. Ultimately, a dealer here in my area (about an hour away) calls me with a cancelled customer order coming in that checked all the boxes I was looking for ('22 MME Premium AWD, ER Battery) and was a color I was into. It had a $10k ADM though. I was faced with a decision.... keep looking for one at MSRP, order a 2023, or pay the ADM and actually find/get one while a Federal Tax Credit was still a guaranteed thing. I opted to put the $1k down to hold the vehicle and wait for it to arrive at the dealer (which should be end of Sept) at which point I still plan to take delivery for a price of $68,575 before TTL. My justification is with the $7500 tax credit, I'll effectively be at $61k for a car that will now cost me $66k in 2023 to order, and has no guarantee tax credit in 2023 so I am technically still coming out ahead financially vs waiting up to a year to have the same car for more money. I also ordered a 2023 (GT model) and when it eventually arrives, can make a decision based on market conditions etc.
So my point is, ADM sucks, but it is part of the market, the circumstances we are in currently with supply chain issues, and supply/demand, so it won't go away anytime soon. Not to mention have you ever heard of a company (Ford) increasing their selling price, only to decrease it later? So the new 2023 pricing is now the benchmark for the future, and it will only go up. So yeah ADM sucks but I still don't feel like I got (too) raked over the coals here considering the circumstances.
$50k ADM just means “not for sale.”My local Ford Dealer had a Lightning on the lot. $50k ADM ?!?!?

I'm definitely not a fan of the high ADM. However, I still feel based on the math that even with it, now that we know the MSRP of the 2023's and the fact that there is unlikely to be a tax credit next year, I'm still coming out OK.I think it is foolish to pay huge ADM, but that is my opinion. On the other hand, who am I to tell "you" how to spend your money.
