That was about identical for me, even the time you started at around noon. Mine finished just before 5pm. 2021 Job 2.
If the downloads started at a more or less OK speed then slowed (for more than one user) I would suspect a server side issue. Maybe tons of hits happened around the slow-down? ?‍♂?

A couple of things I'm thinking about with this update.

1. Steve, I think you may be right with the server side issue. It certainly wasn't a home network issue for Andy, Neil and I. Andy and I both have fast wifi (mine was 688 Mbps at the times I was connected yesterday) and Neil was hard wired. I tried at least 4 times very early in the morning to download and kept getting errors siting a bad network connection which I knew I didn't have on my end. Then tried again at noon and everything when like clockwork.

2. Not that we have a lot of info but so far, with the members that have updated on this thread, the 2022's (Pat) and 2021 Job 2's (mine, Andy and Neil's) have taken 5+ hours while members with Job 1's (Kevin, Christopher, Woeo and generaltso) have taken around 90 minutes. Maybe it is just a coincidence?

Yeah, that elapsed time for Job 1 2021 cars seems fast. Guessing that they got some portion of the update package before the ‘21 Job 2 and 2022 cars. Either that or there were no server bottleneck issues at the time they downloaded their updater packages. ?‍♂?

2021 job 1 here, gonna be performing this update soon. Do I need to Mongoose into the car first to start the USB transfer process? And can I disconnect from the car while it creates the USB?

Connect the Mongoose to the OBD port for the entire duration of the update. The USB portion is only one segment of the installation process in FDRS.

Everyone will get them OTA eventually. You can buy the required software and hardware to do the updates yourself, or you can wait. That's the current state of affairs.
That is not so. Other than the point updates, they are mostly not available OTA, and the dealers won't do the non recall ones unless to solve a specific issue. So pay someone to do it or SOL.

Or just wait. Sync updates have already been delivered OTA to 2021 cars, and this particular one has been rolling out to 2022 cars as PowerUp 3.5.3. Now that we're seeing 3.5.2 starting to roll out to 2021 EA cars, 3.5.3 shouldn't be too far behind. But if you prefer to believe that your car will never get an OTA update, I'm not going to try to change your mind.

I haven't followed the 2022 updates. I presume 3.5.2 is the GWM update and 3.5.3 is APIM which is what we would expect based on how updates are showing up in FDRS. Is this what people are seeing or are you seeing some changes to SYNC screen with 3.5.2?

The difference is the smaller file size to keep leaving out the frunk button @Jimrpa

I have noticed no UI changes with 3.5.2

3.5.2 is a GWM update, not a SYNC update. Your interface won’t be any different afterwards. The new SYNC is in the 3.5.3 OTA.
