Hi again;

Thanks for your all of your assistance!! After no updates for all of my ownership period suddenly there have been daily updates this past week, however I am still unable to spin the volume knob to make climate control changes. Do you know which update is necessary to resolve?

Here is the VIN again thanks VIN 3FMTK3SU8NMA32171.
I think that’s the new Sync 4A. Nobody has received that except the new 2023s
Hopefully we’ll all get soon.

Just to clarify, we all already have Sync 4A. But, yes, this is an update to Sync 4A that hasn’t been rolled out to 2021 and 2022 cars yet.

Thanks so much, had watched the "Ford" released video which seemed to imply it was active with the HVAC module update, so thought I should be ready to go. 2022 Premium so still on the standby list, understood.

I just got the dreaded "service soon" & "high voltage battery fault" problem. I'm' wondering if anyone can check the fault codes remotely to let me know if it looks like that's what is needed.

My VIN is 3fmtk4sx0nma17051

Thanks,
Mike

Mark;

Good morning and welcome to the forum!

I'm showing a build date of 24 Sep '21, a Job 2 car (GT).

Your car was updated for the 22S41 recall-related revisions (for the PCM, BECM, SOBDM, SOBDMB, and SOBDMC modules) and apparently you may have requested that they perform the updates consistent with the list in CSP 21P22 at the same time. If that's the case they missed some.

Here's the list of available updates as of today:
3FMTK4SE5MME02361-9-Dec-22.png

On the 14th of Nov when the tech was doing the updates the CSP 21P22 instructions were clearly referenced by the tech in the system (all the lookup calls that say "PTS : FSA 21P22") so why the OBCC and RFA updates didn't get done I don't know since they are part of the CSP 21P22 update. There is a session log entry for the 15th of Nov as you'll see below, but no programming took place on that date-info lookup only.
3FMTK4SE5MME02361-9-Dec-22Work1.png

But to your original question...yes your recall was performed...but there are newer revisions for some of those same modules out there since your last visit.

Mike
Mike thanks so much for taking the time to research my VIN. I will ask the dealer about the list of missing updates. One question will these updates be potentially done over the air?

That is the most often asked question we get here really.

There are a few modules that cannot get updated with an OTA, two are in your list:
GSM - updated if gearshift errors are present as DTCs (in the dealer's connected vehicle dashboard) or you get an error message
WACM - updated if your iPhone gets hot but doesn't charge properly

Seemingly all MY21 Job 2 cars with available cruise-control related updates have had those updates on their lists this entire year, and they haven't been updated via OTA. You have four of those updates in your list:
CCM
CMR
IPMA
PSCM

Powertrain updates have occasionally been updated (22S41 recall did go out as an OTA for many). You currently have a PCM update in your list.

The OBCC update in your list was intended to address a specific issue with EVGO chargers but this hasn't been sent out as an OTA as far as I'm aware.

And like the WACM module above there are some modules that are only updated in response to a customer concern and have so far not been updated by an OTA although they are capable of it:
RFA - updated in response to poor Bluetooth connectivity between your car and your phone, (think PAAK issues)
DSM - updated in response to a customer concern about the driver's seat and mirror settings not matching the profile/keyfob in use at the time. (Seat and mirrors go to the wrong position for the current driver, based on the keyfob they are carrying).

BCM and GFM (Frunk latch module) are capable of being updated via OTA but have not been so far. This update combo is especially desirable for those with J1 cars because it enables opening of the frunk with the driver's door keypad and a keyfob that has that functionality (many use the Lightning keyfob for this). Not sure what good it would do to have that updated on a J2 car if you already have that functionality.

Bottom line....don't look for these to be updated by an OTA anytime soon.

Hello all,

Just purchased a 2022 Select. Waiting for updates Latest one is 3.5.3. Curious if they are queued up or need to be pushed. I find it a little weird and not the best experience to not be on the latest software on delivery, but I do get dealers don't have an incentive for that. I am also curious if there is any other information on my VIN that I should know. (Like it's build date ect.)

VIN: 3FMTK1RM4NMA60897

The gateway (GWM) might get updated via OTA, the HVAC should be updated by your dealer under program 22B28 for free prior to delivery.

The rest you'll have to ask them if they'll do it for you.

Is the HVAC ,OTA 3.6.1, still coming via OTA or has Ford cancel it and doing at the dealerships.

I don't have an answer for you. I know from the bulletin that it can be done at the dealerships for free, but I have no visibility on whether or not an OTA has been cancelled. I can tell you that if you call your service advisor and ask them to pull up your VIN on the OTA dashboard they may be able to tell you if it's queued for you.

I never get OTAs so.....

Appreciate it! Going to see if things get themselves sorted out over this week. If not, to the dealership I go to have them push it.

Hello all,

I purchased a new Mach-E last month and haven't been able to use FordPass, any of the "Connected Vehicle Features" or Hands-Free BlueCruise since just after it rolled off the lot. The dealer has apparently tried to update various things but nothing has worked and they are now going to attempt to replace the gateway module (if that module ever arrives). Would it be possible for someone to look up my VIN and see if anything jumps out as problematic or odd?

The VIN is: 3FMTK3SU5NMA58467

Thanks so much in advance.

Your service tech is problematic and possibly odd...but certainly cannot follow instructions.
Below is one portion of a session log for the 2nd of December where a gateway module programming attempt was made. This is the third attempt of the day:
Ford Mustang Mach-E Post here if you have an active FDRS account and are willing to look up info for others 3FMTK3SU5NMA58467-12-Dec-22Work

Aside from the previous attempts this one highlights a recurring theme of the tech simply not waiting the requisite amount of time to allow the update to progress.

After FDRS copies the updated data to a properly formatted USB 3.0 thumb drive, that drive is inserted into the car's console USB port with the car fully turned on (at the point where it says "Turn ignition On. Engine On." above).

It should take about 1-2 minutes for the drive to be recognized and then could take another 2-5 minutes for the contents of the drive to be downloaded to the car after which a message appears saying to shut the car off and leave it for between 5 and 10 minutes (it differs depending on the update) before returning to the car to restart it and wait for the message that the update was successful and the USB dive can be removed from the car.

This tech repeatedly (only one example is shown above) did not wait for the drive contents to be recognized and instead he/she indicated by clicking the dialog box in FDRS that the update failed....after only 4 minutes and 55 seconds into the process.

This tech is not waiting long enough for the USB update to even be downloaded to the car. And again, the session log above is only one example of this behavior.

You do still have a gateway update available. But I'm not at all convinced you need a new gateway module.
Here's the list of available updates:
Ford Mustang Mach-E Post here if you have an active FDRS account and are willing to look up info for others 3FMTK3SU5NMA58467-12-Dec-22

After more thought...it could be that the tech needs to get a better USB drive. It is possible that all these attempts have failed because they are using a substandard USB drive or that it's not properly formatted. Regardless...that would also be a human factors issue.
