I get all that, but in guessing and factoring in your usage, it still looks to the local model to calculate.
I don't understand why it would do that. WLTP and EPA are testing methodologies, not local driving models. The only driving model the MME uses is your driving history and local climate.

Any way to disable the requirement for the car to be stopped while watching youtube or any of the other upcoming apps? Don't kill me for asking..

Finally got this sorted out enough to give it a go. I refurbed an old laptop, which has a BT dongle, and used my OBDLink MX+. Connectivity was a challenge but finally got that to work a few times out of many attempts. When FORscan could find it, I flipped on the frunk control on the Access screen, and turned on the frost warning on the IPC - and it was cold enough to see it work. I also looked into the mirror tilt, but I'm not sure I want to go to the trouble. I will say my Audi did this out-of-the-box and I still gave all my wheels road rash.

But there are hundreds of other options for APIM and IPC; waiting to see what others are choosing to try out. (Don't care about the power meter thing.)

I would LOVE it if someone figured out how to disable the panic alarm on the key fob. It is a "feature" that I have never understood and is so often accidentally triggered that like car alarms in general, nobody pays it any attention any longer.

On my 2007 Mazda 3 I went so far as to desolder the switch from the PCB in the fob because of how easily that button was pressed. I'd bend over with my keys in my pocket and it would set the damn thing off.

I'm currently trying ways of reducing the amount of chimes/"dongs" (to paraphrase Jeremy Clarkson, you know you're driving an American car if you do something and it dongs) the car presents when you turn the car off or on.

I completely understand and agree... the relatively huge size of the MME fob doesn'help at all here as the average pocket has only so much volume.

I (mostly) solved this by buying a black plastic fob case which looks like fake carbon fiber. Unlike the black vinyl case for my spare fob, the cheapo fake carbon fiber case has enough wall rigidity to mitigate inadvertent pocket jostling alarms by about 90+ %.

Unfortunately it's been so long I can't remember the manufacturer... likely an Amazon or Ebay purchase.

I apologize for straying further off-topic but can’t resist…

There’s a key fob replacement on thingiverse.com that can be 3d printed that will solve the unwanted button press issue. It eliminates all buttons and makes for a smaller fob.

https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:4958307/apps

“Summary:

Custom Key FOB housing to reduce the size of the OEM FOB by removing buttons and metal key. Carefully disassembly your old FOB and reuse the circuit board and battery. Careful not to damage components on the board.
This FOB is shorter by the length of the metal key section, about the same width, and about 40% thinner than the OEM FOB.”

If you look in forscan for the BCM config, the plain english settings should have an option to change it to a double press. I don't have the car right now to verify.

I just looked, it isn't there. Best I could do was set it to just flash the marker lights, so I just changed it to that. Just the most useless feature to be put on a car in the past 25 years.

Luckily (knock on wood) I've yet to have set it off yet.

@Ford Motor Company, as much software control is available for individual features on these vehicles, particularly with the profiles available in the Mach E, something like this should be user configurable from the factory.

I assume that the panic button is federally mandated since it's on every fob in this country but is conspicuously absent from a lot of the same cars that are sold overseas.

Who knows. Given the disconnect of regulators/politicians in DC from the real world I wouldn't doubt it.

I know when I looked up the topic on Reddit, just about anyone outside of NA was asking what a panic alarm was.

@21st Century Pony: Finally I have enabled the Frost Warning snowflake (Job 1 2021 EU car), thank you very much for your guide!
It took some time to get the proper Forscan interface (VXDiag Nano J2534 passthru) and it works (we have freezing temperatures now).
With the new Forscan version I got the first procedure with the module addresses, not the one with several screen pages.
The next step is to try to enable the power meter on my Job 1 MME (if it has the proper updates).
Thanks.

P.S. Just as info, Is it possible to update any modules with Forscan or FDRS is needed?

Module updates need FDRS.
