Yes, July 3, 2021 shipped with no electronic frunk release, has divider in tub. My 21P22 just happened to have the correct software to update it because it was done later than most at the dealer. You can do the same thing if you know someone with FDRS or if you wanna pay Ford to do it to just update the BCM and GFM, it should take less than an hour.

You’re a unicorn though. You’re the first instance I’ve heard of where the remote frunk release has been enabled on a job 1 by ford. Has it been enabled in FordPass as well?

No, it only works with the door key code trick. It's not on the screen or in FordPass. I use it all the time though, it's nice to have!

It was updated by the dealer via FDRS, and FDRS is how @generaltso and others have gotten it. This might be the first person to say a dealer did it, but if you're friendly with your dealer and they'll do updates for no charge or got 21P22 done late, you could have got the frunk button. It isn't too crazy that he was able to get it done. Heck, if you're just nice to your advisor when you bring it in for a service event, you can probably sweet talk them into doing the update. It is really, really quick. Not all dealers are the devil.

Yep, got that now. I was hoping that s/he had hit the “frunk jackpot” so to speak and gotten the entire remote frunk release system enabled. Not yet. Still “soon” (TM)

I mean, that's the basic function, the rest is sync stuff that can easily be enabled with an APIM update and turned on the server. But it won't roll out to everyone until there's a BCM OTA, which would probably be an inhibit update, so it's a bit more involved, and I'm guessing that's what they are working on.

Do they do it on its own or roll it into a bigger series of updates like they did with BlueCruise OTA?

There's also an option in FDRS to enable the frunk button in Sync after the BCM and GFM modules are updated. It's a full fledged enablement with the exception of FordPass.

You could use Forscan to turn the button on for your center screen.

Forscan works with most OBDII adapters. For just making config changes it doesn't need to be anything special.

Hey I think I was sold the wrong battery cause I'm not getting 230 miles when driving up pikes peak? Can someone tell me what's wrong or if I can add more battery in my trunk that doesn't open when I kick my foot under it which is weird

Hmm. My car charged to 100% yesterday despite its instructions. The good news is that I now know for an actual fact I was given the wrong battery as the range at 100% was 286 miles. My car has an EPA range of 270 miles. Where do I send the check for the battery bonus?
