Is PAAK now a reasonable app?

When I first got my MME in late 2021 the threads about PAAK were pretty negative and so I never bothered to try it out. Has the app matured enough that it's a better experience now? I have one of my two fobs currently AWOL in my house and it has me wondering about PAAK.

Thoughts?
early versions of FordPass the PAAK functionality was unreliable, especially if you had an old Android phone. seems very reliable now.... initial install and config needs to be done in one swoop. You might follow these directions for a 'clean install':

I have avoided having to rely on paak entirely, but mine hasn't failed in months. It failed enough when I first got it that I resolved never ever to rely on it.

But if I had to use it now and forgot my fob I wouldn't feel too nervous.

Edit: OnePlus 9 pro w/ Android 13

iPhone13: PAAK works about 25% first time, and 75% after frustratingly pushing the button for 30 seconds. One out of 4 times it doesn't work at all and I have to key in the code or use my watch to unlock it via the app.
So it remains frustratingly bad for me. I suspect that part of the problem is other Bluetooth activity on the phone. I also get random 'no key detected' after starting the car.

Pixel 6a + 2021 Job 1 here. It was super reliable (okay sometimes with a key not found, but it always recovered). After 4.1.3 it has dropped to around 90%. I occasionally take the FOB with me now and never had done so before except for long trips. Sigh.

iPhone XR, 2022 Select. Works 100% of the time, but not always the first time. Sometimes I have to take my phone out of my pocket and wake it up to get it to work (10% of the time). Never has it left me stranded, and even if it did, I have a door code and backup passcode. I only bring my FOB for valets if we're traveling, since the valet code is foreign to many valets still.
Same for me. Been using PAAK since the day I got the car, which has been 1 year this week. Started using PAAK on my 2022 Select using an IPhone XS Max; got the IPhone 14 Pro Max in Nov and it still works. 10% I have to take my phone out of my pocket to unlock the phone and wake the app, but other then that it’s been seamless.

PaaK has been my primary key for at least a year. Sometimes it's slow and you have to wake up the car... and other times I close the ford app and it messes things up.... but overall, very pleased.

I used to have issues but not anymore. I keep the key in a faraday bag so where in the car and have never used it.

if there is an issue I can enter the backup password. Just check every now and then , that it is still there.

every now and then I may have to check the Bluetooth connection on the phone but once I open Fordpass it works right away

edit: using I phone 12 software version 16.3.1

Well, I'm not encouraged. I tried to set it up and I keep winding up in a circular loop that gets nowhere. I get a message that says, "LIMITED SUPPORT FOR THIS DEVICE" Phone as a key will still function, but we're still working to optimize the experience". When I click proceed with setup it just takes me back to the home screen with my car on it.

I'm using a Galaxy S22 so it's not like I have some weird phone...

EDIT: I may have broken through by entering through a different part of the app. Stay tuned.

Like @hybrid2bev is run well for over two years. I’ve used it on pixel and iPhone.
No fob hassle!

iPhone 14 Pro, I tried it one time, never doing that again lol. I literally unlocked my car with my phone, but the car didn't recognize the phone as a key. This was at like 12:30 am. The car alarm then started going off after I got in. Do you know how embarrassing this is at 12:30 am lol. It would not work no matter what. Luckily I had my password so I put that in and got it.

100 % PaaK since Day 1. 21,000 miles, almost 2 years.
Yes, it can be OCCASIONALLY glitchy. Never stranded, me never had to use backup code or anything like that.
I take my Fob w/ me only when I go to dealer for service.
I’ve had plenty of issues over these last 2 years w/ my MachE, PaaK reliability has never been enough of even a minor issue, IMHO.

Also find the auto-lock when walking away using PAAK is troublesome. Example: Park the car, run across lot to Starbucks, don’t get the notification of auto-lock… walk out to find car exterior lights on and car unlocked 25% of the time.

Iphone 10: Works everytimeISH......So with 20 months of PAAK what I've learned is that if my phone has not been near my car for a while.....say overnight or several hours.....the phone will say "Bluetooth Not Connected"......even while I'm standing next to it.......I simply have to close the app (swipe up) and then the app throws up a reminder that PAAK only works with the app open......so I then I tap the message to relaunch the app and then it will "Blutooth Connected" everytime without fail......then it's normal operation. Small hassle, but a hassle non the less. **Question: Is this the phone's problem or the car?

Also, sometimes I can use the PAAK with the phone "asleep"; sometimes I just have to have the phone "awake" and sometimes I have to actually have the Ford Pass App up and running on the screen. **THIS PART I HAVE NO ANSWER FOR.......Maybe the experience of the Forum Members have an explination....
