What is this fuse dangling under the dash?

When I bought my MME I had noticed a fuse dangling under the dash. I totally forgot about it for months but remembered I wanted to see what it was. So come along with me and let’s play a game.

What, pray tell might be under yonder dashboard

Did the dealer install a LoJack or something?

They 'installed something" lol. Wasting no time or effort by t-tapping into the ODB2 connector for power and ground. Only the skilledist of installers would target such an area.

No so it was molested by 2 dealers. I did car audio and security for nearly 25 years. This, is exactly what I expected.

OK… So where does this mysterious tap terminate? Inquiring minds want to know! ??

If it's tapped into the OBD2 port, it's probably always on, so either a low-jack style GPS device or a security camera setup that is missing the camera (or the camera is well-hidden)?

And a sharp eye would see it was only ever power and ground. So utterly useless for anything other than a LoJack, but so many wires you say.

‘Yeah it takes us a couple hours to remove It. You are better off just paying the $2400 for it’ says, every dealer.

Greatest part is they left this crap behind, when it had quick disconnect connectors on the T tap at the ODB2 wires. Dealerships just never change.

I saw the clipped yellow, green, white wires, but I've seen enough dumb installs that I wouldn't have been surprised if they'd just grabbed whatever they had on hand.

Bill Luke. They also hit me for $400 for tint. AFTER I got it home I realized they only tinted the front doors. $200 a door. I also did tint for 25ish years... I NEVER made $200 a door... When questioned I was told "It is what they do."

I would have asked them to either remove the front side window tint or that they pay for every fix-it ticket I got for it and my consulting rate for my time to deal with it. You know, since I live in a town where they will pull me over for anything. ??

It is not on my car, but a colleague has a MME and her car has the same thing.
It is for a aftermarket security system.
There are stickers inside the door frame that identify the maker.
