It's the interior temperature sensor, not a motion sensor, other topic might have gotten that wrong. There is a humidity sensor nearby behind the perforated grille too.

Motion sensors are behind the slots in the overhead console near where it says Passenger Airbag.

If you rub the nub, you may notice the A/C compressor get more excited...
