Also there's a good chance based on what I've read the 2025s will have the higher kw charging

Define retrofit.

And I wouldn't pay for anything permanent. This car goes back to Ford when my Options term runs out.

My Lightning on the other hand.....

It is more than that. NACS puts AC and DC charging on the same pins, no way that works with the current on-board charger. It is also less safe than CCS because of this, takes much more smarts in the car and extra contactors.

I won't be paying anything related to brand t. If Ford does remove CCS capabilities in the future, I'll be going with a different vehicle brand for any new EVs I buy.

I understand and support the sentiment, but I personally wouldn’t say no to having access to banks of superchargers as an option, even though I’d need to drink Pepto Bilmol while using any of them… ?

I understand. I have never and would never tell someone else how to spend their money. I appreciate that you aren't either. :)

I've had pretty fantastic success on the CCS chargers I've used traveling all around the southwest and west coast. It will only get better for me with others leaving the CCS network, but I'll happily stay here.

There are zero Tesla superchargers on this rock and zero plans for any here. As long as I have my 2021 this is a non issue for me just as BlueCruise and its subscription hike are (no BlueCruise roads either). If I was to trade for a 2025 plus though, it is an issue as then I’d need the other adapter, and I’m generally not fond of that idea.

These kinds of transitions always suck and usually involve a lot of hard choices along the way - as well as impacts on users. Will be interesting times for sure.

I hate adapters and if Ford is going all in on NACS, then I'd rather be on the newer standard that's supported moving forward. I was hoping to keep this car more than 3 years so I'm willing to eat that retrofit cost to keep it longer.
