11 Jul '21 build date, Job 2 car. Thanks for getting back to me! Decided to skip over that one after reading about some of the issues early build Mach-E's had. The amount of buybacks on Autotrader also made me nervous.
Just put a deposit down on what I assume was one of the very first Job 2 vehicles. It has the traction control button next to the headlight and no frunk divider.
Could you check the VIN for it? 3FMTK3SU2MMA42788
Here's the list of available updates:
I have suggested to others that were car shopping in the past that it might be possible to get a dealer salesman to get the service department to do all the updates as part of an agreement on the sale. At least one poster I looked up tried this but after getting the car home and asking me to check again we found that nothing had been updated.
Quite often the sales team may have little influence to get things updated. The service department part of the dealership is normally a separate "domain" and operate by their own rules independent of whatever the sales department does. The hard part for the service department would be finding some reason to do all these updates and charge for them. Who are they gonna charge for the techs time to do the update? I suppose they could just absorb the cost internally, but I suspect this is why a lot of times getting the car updated "as part of the deal" doesn't end up with the desired result. If you do successfully get this worked out please report back and let me know.
