You're looking at around $850 just for the mirror assembly. That assume it's all toast, or you can try and buy parts and see what you can salvage, like the camera.

LJ8Z-17682-LA I believe.

Ordered. Yeah the camera technically works, but honestly for the small difference in price and knowing I wont have to deal with the headache of "crap this part works but this doesn't" it just easier

Ouch! That's where I'd use the auto- side-mirror-fold button on driver's door. I've accidently pushed it while driving. Order and replace entire side mirror assembly. You can always salvage unbroken parts from original assembly (e.g., camera) for later use, ha. Looks like an easy DIY removing some interior plastic trim panels to access mirror mounts. Don't kick yourself... we're human.

Yeah I used to fold it but like the 3d view. Got too cocky.

Any guide for removing my panel? Last I did this was my golf when I got clipped parked on the street.

Been parking in this stall for close to two years. Today I clipped my garage door railing and broke the mirror.

Should I diy? Any guides out there. Thanks.
My wife did this on a different car years ago.

I fixed it with super glue and a new piece of mirror glass for cheap.

Should be a straightforward replacement as long as the interior trim piece on the base of the a-pillar can be removed without complications. You should be able to tell pretty quickly.

From the Ford Mach-E repair manual.

I would argue that actually using your side mirrors to back out of the garage is a better way to avoid hitting them than tucking them in.

I’m on “team tuck!”

I’m not looking at the side mirrors, I’m looking back and/or at the backup and 360 cameras.

More worried that the kids left their bikes behind the car or someone is back there.

I back in to my garage due to a curve in my driveway, but there's always a point where I switch from the backup and 360 cameras to the mirrors to make sure I have clearance for the mirrors between the frame. 360 cameras are nice, but not accurate enough to tell me I'm not going to hit the garage rails (especially because if you're close, they stick the orange/red proximity warning outline over the camera view, blocking just how close you actually are)

I did similar on Friday. I have got lazy and did not fold mirrors. I back in. Fortunately only the casing came off but the little plastic strip is broken. Will try and glue it.

Makes sense, why we are different. I don’t back into my garage, I back out.
