I guess I'm back to ignoring you Todd. Enjoyed the banter, but now that you're on to another brand no reason to listen to the negativity.
First, do as you please. It's not going to hurt my feelings if you ignore me. I normally tell people to ignore me so you saved me a comment.

Second, it's a very immature a childish approach to attack people for wanting a feature that they were sold. I have NEVER asked for anything that wasn't sold to me. It's incomprehensible that someone as seasoned as you would say "most of us don't care". So what if most don't. I don't EVER use the frunk in the MME. If you do, great. I'm not going to say "well I don't use a frunk so therefore you shouldn't either." What kind of mentality is that? I think Jimpra (and everyone else who's still waiting) deserves to get their remote frunk opening and have said so since day one ... I've never used it, but they deserve it!

Third, I still own a MachE

Forth, I have helped people in multiple threads today as well (cited and cited). I don't just come on this forum to bash on Ford. I can do both help people with a car and critique the shortcomings of Ford. Ultimately, I care about people, not a car. I don't give a damn if Ford is here tomorrow or not. But I have made a lot of good friends and acquaintances from all over the globe thanks to this car and forum. I will continue to help people where I can regardless of my ownership. I have 26 pages of DMs, multiple stickies and countless hours of diagnostic work, where I have helped people over the last 18 months.

Fifth, while I live in California, I have very opposing views to 90% of the people who live here. But that doesn't matter. We can all have different views and lumping me into a category based on where I live and my profession is pretty low.

I hope Ford does better because I have friends here who deserve better. Everyone who purchased an MME deserves 100% of what they purchased, not just the parts and pieces that you agree with.

The only improvement I give ford credit for is the use of the volume to change temperature. But in fact if they had stuck with the same interface in Explorer they prob6could have avoided needing it in the 1st place. I have more issues now at 27k miles with buggey sw problems then when new and PAAK didn't work. I'd rather have the 1st release right now, at least my center screen might work and not continously reboot.

All this and no one mentioned the HVBJB fiasco,

someone above mentioned as a positive that Ford was the number 2 selling EV. They’ve been selling for more than 2 years now , their totals are IMHO ridiculously low

didn't they say they wanted to have an annual production rate of 200k by the end of this year, maybe it was higher. They are way behind schedule. You can promote BS as much as you want , but at the end of the day you have to produce.

they would have been better off waiting to get more kinks out and put a faster charging system in the car.

As an FYI, I am pretty happy with the car but fear every new release that might break something and of course the old ticking time bomb with the inferior HVBJB

unfortunately Ford is not alone. most car companies have gotten some product out the door before ready for prime time . GM especially. Diesel cars from years ago and of course the Bolt. Most haven’t been immune from lousy cars.

Edit: I just saw the 6 month sales for EV’s by model, MME was 6th at 14k+, pretty sorry number

Farley always sounds as if he found out about the 150 suppliers a couple weeks ago. It’s shameful that Ford did not anticipate that modules will not communicate seamlessly and update easily. Heck, they could have asked Rivian!

He could have easily said: MME is gen 1, traditional supply chain and low / no integration on purpose to quickly bring to market. Thanks to our customers who have been patient with us while we go through growing pains. Gen 2 will have much higher integration with in-house software, blah blah.

I really think that someone in communication should help him create a more positive narrative about the EV implementation. This stream of consciousness shit is not working. Not rocket science, really.

Out of your list I have the headlight switch, profile and seat location since day 1. Most of the other ones you listed I never had. Some of them I have now that I didn't have back then. For me none of the issues that I've had have been addressed. I still have the profile issue and seat location issue. I tried to get a replacement headlamp switch and was denied. Maybe I'm just unlucky. I think PaaK improved for a while, but then it just got even worse. All the other bugs that I have now I didn't have originally. I'm glad some of yours got addressed.
At the very least we have some new features that came OTA and the UI is significantly faster than 2 years ago. Plus faster charging amongst other things.

Either way, the software is getting better it seems.

I’m sure someone could make a list of all the OTA changes over the last couple years. It would be pretty long.

My hatch opens on its own as it does for many other owners. I don't think those retirees want their walkers and oxygen tanks to get stolen.

Is that why Rivian sold more R1T trucks in 2023 over MachE's at double the cost? I think we have different opinions here. I don't think it's tech as a whole, but rather all the negative press on the MME.
And since Ford has a definite influence over the "press", the negative press is far below what it should legitimately be.

All of the updates you can find here: https://github.com/elmedico27/fordpowerup
Thanks for the link.

This "future update" was included in an OTA update over a year ago:
  • Unlock 2021 model Mustang Mach-E usable battery to the same level as 2022 models (from 68 to 70 kWh and from 88 to 91 kWh)
Mine was updated when the dealer did all the FDRS updates, but others got it via OTA. I guess it is in the future feature list because Ford never publicly notified us about it.

I saw that interview when it first came out. My take away is that future Ford BEV customers (post 2025) are the ones that will truly benefit from the lessons learned from the mistakes with the Mach-E and Lightning.

My only recurring complaint (in just about all my posts) is the laggy software and AA freezing all the time. I say only but this has become a glaring annoyance. Essentially, every time I go from AA to any other screen and back to AA, AA freezes up or does not reload properly. Every time. Even if that is on Google, Ford should be working with it to fix the issue. I'd love to sit Farley in my car for a drive. Think he could pencil me in? ?

Then two years ago it must have been unusable by comparison. Wanna trade cars? ?. Sorry, Sheeba, I didn't really mean that. How about we just swap center displays.

Ooh, wouldn't that be cool if you could swap the center console out with an iPad Pro or Galaxy Tab S8 Ultra. Something with real processing chops. Just the hardware.

What was the generation number of the Ford Ranger EV?
Ah yeah good point. I believe that used lead-acid batteries. Nonetheless 4th generation now ! LOL

They made even less of those than the Focus Electric. You could argue that the Focus was Ford's first production EV.

There is also the EV Transit Connect that they were making at the time of the Focus Electric. Those were conversions, however--they would take an ICE Transit and send it somewhere to get converted to an EV.

3rd generation of EVs.

Ford did produce a little known car called the Focus Electric.

Mach-E is 2nd generation (and I don't care if Ford calls it 1st generation).

Yes I know Ford outsourced most of the Focus Electric (Magna for powertrain and someone else for batteries--I think it was LG Chem) ;)
All true. I think I've heard someone at Ford refer to the Mach-E and Lightning as first generation EVs, but there were definitely compliance iterations before then.

I think the real problem is that many people experience issues and many don’t

Consistency would really be nice. Why do some have problems where I don’t and vice versa

I get it that some products fail but there are way too many issues here, Ford warranty claims are the worst or close to worst in the industry, maybe that’s the real problem

The amount of narcissism is unreal on this thread ?

Ford has a different business model than you, get over it. Doing what forum member X wants is not the only way to be a good company ? They’re in the business of making money and determined this was the best way to do it with the resources, IP, and business environment that they had during the development of the first gen of EV’s roughly 10 years ago at this point. Focusing on the next generation with a significantly better architecture and control over the systems is far more productive than fixing nuisance bug x,y,z on a product already regarded as one of the best EVs on the market with zero changes ??‍♂.
