Ahhh. I think I know what you mean. The little up and down arrows icon. Yeah, that wasn't on at the time I was fiddling with the settings. That may be it. I'll go out for a spin this afternoon and see if I can bring it up. Thanks!

Easiest way to see if your connectivity features/TCU are working is you'll see the Wifi Available symbol, and you can also pull up the weather info on the in-screen nav or see if the Live Traffic data populates. If all that works, then you're fine, it's just the glitch with the connectivity menu that for some reason is server side and they still haven't fixed.

Went out for a drive today and never got the connectivity icon to show up. I didn't really notice that it wasn't there until yesterday. My truck has it at the top of the screen like everytime I go out. ?‍♂

Just wanted to provide a quick update about my Mach-E.

Thanks to Mike I had a good readout of all updates and what the two critical ones are for me to jump to the 4xx Version of SYNC. I went to the dealer to an unrelated topic (PA Inspection Sticker expired one day after my purchase) - showed them the readout and asked for the two updates to be performed (GWM and APIM) - they said they could do that for me but it would take around 4 hours - technically speaking non of this would be covered by the certified warranty or anything else but due to me being a new customer they would perform it anyways for no cost.

Shortly after that the Service Manager showed up and said that there's actually two parts in the Mach E they would order for me to be replaced (she said the name... I sadly forgot... some module or something) and they will run the updates same day for me.

Don't know the wait time on these parts but I will update the board once they are installed!

FDRS won't show you any errors that might indicate what's going on with Connected Services unless your TCU is throwing some sort of error. Your dealership's service advisor might be able to see something in their PTS "Connected Vehicle" section...or if there is no data showing then that would tell them that there's something up with your TCU (modem). People have pulled the TCU fuse in the passenger side footwell fusebox to reset the TCU.

I'm participating in an EA test right now and since I wanted to try out what they had enabled on my car I sat in there yesterday and was going through some of the Sync settings and screens, and when I selected the Connected Services section I got a sort of dialog 'cloud' pop up with three little dots that stayed onscreen for about a second and then shut off without displaying anything else. So, like you, at least in the car I get nothing on Connected Services. But in FP the Connected Services stuff does come up and show correct info for both my car and truck.

MME_TCU_Fuse.png

11/12 is a combo fuse but the "11 side" is actually for the TCU itself. I'd pull this and wait about 5 mins and then put it back and start the car.

Another thing to consider...was this car a mannequin and did the dealer put it on the FCTP program? Maybe it's still in fleet mode if so. Sometimes it takes a little while for Ford to register the sale and enable everything on the car. Don't know if that's part of the problem but it has happened before.

From today's list of available updates for your car I would certainly urge your dealer tech to update that gateway module in your list before doing anything else.

And then I'd do the RFA (bluetooth module) next. The ACM and HVAC they could probably skip altogether (okay to do but not a priority). But that gateway...yeah that needs to be done and then whatever subsequent updates show up for the APIM, GWM, or TCU after that initial gateway is updated (which will happen).

I received the power-up 4.2.3 yesterday. (GWM) Yes.........
My question is, GitHub shows this as a 2021 & 2022 car update.
Does this mean that my 6/30 2023 build date car has a module made for a 2022 car run and just needs to be updated, or is it common for newer car models to get older model updates?

Please don't get me wrong, I am very happy to get any update, just curious about why the GitHub list shows car year for updates.

So if the updates follow as above with 4.2.3, I should be hoping for the TCU update 4.2.4 next!
Or is there another version of the TCU that I may get if the TCU already has the 4.2.4 update? Trying to figure out how far behind the curve my new car is on the update scale........... I am wondering when I should jump into the FDRS lic. with the Mongoose cable, battery charger, conditioner, and power supply unit game. I, like most other posts I have read about on the Macheforum did not have good luck with my last two MMEs and OTAs, Ford tech support, or dealer support.

To be honest, I have had more support, guidance, and information on this forum from folks like Mike G. and others than hours of Ford tech support and weeks of my car's left at the dealer.

Thanks again everyone here on macheforum.com

Because Tonesto7 hasn't had anybody report to him that they got this on a '23 model?

That's probably it.

I've sent him a few things showing I got updates on my Lightning that the website showed only for other F-150s. So the info for that site is very much crowd sourced. Every little bit adds to the total wealth of knowledge.

Will FDRS work with Windows 11?
One of our members from the EU tried it and ended up wiping and reloading Win 10 to get FDRS working. And officially the system requirements do say Win 10. The people responsible for FDRS would have to consider updating or making a whole new diagnostic hardware tool to replace the VCM II or III that was based on Windows 11. I don't think they're in any rush to do that. That VCM II and III is Win 10 based as far as I know.
