Anything you would say to a potential new buyer (as of August 2023)?

So I'm within about a week of putting down money on a long range AWD premium. I've done a few test drives and really enjoy the car. The only thing I'm waiting on really at this point is to make sure that the cost of the home charger install is not insane.

Is there anything people would say to a potential buyer? I've looked over for most of the recalls etc, and it doesn't appear that there is anything major that is affecting the 2023s (most everything seems to be older)

Just to enjoy it, and you may already know it but these forums are always going to have a higher number of complaints than the general public are experiencing because a lot of people come here because they had an issue. Our 2022 Premium AWD has been perfect, no reason yet for an actual dealer visit, and I haven't run into almost any software glitches. Maybe one in twenty times it doesn't auto load my user profile, but it's two taps of the screen to fix it if it happens.

It's an outstanding car, and I think as you noted getting a 2023 you aren't likely to run into problems, but like with any mass manufactured vehicle problems are still possible. Be sure to give it a good look over and try out most of the major features before you leave the lot.

Good luck, I think you are going to love it. For us the MME is my wife's car, but I absolutely love driving it any chance i can get.

Save a few bucks more and spend it on a GTPE. If more range is required consider a model y AWD long range. I have both and they are glorious!

Do not believe the range estimates from Ford, and take any range estimates from this forum, or anyone else, with a grain of salt. You will never get whatever Ford is saying it's estimated at. Mine is "rated" at 215 miles (I think), and there are times when it's closer to 115. Looking back on my purchase, that's the one thing I wish I would have considered/known.

Yeah, I'm taking the range estimates with a grain of salt. Also have done the math about what my range would be like in winter versus the places I may have to go.

The plan is to try and enjoy. I'd be coming out of a 2017 GTI that has been a bit of a nightmare.

I totally get that people come to the forums to complain so the forums are only a small look at the total ownership experience. I've looked over a lot of posts and also when those post were first created to see that the 2023 seems to have addressed many of the concerns. Yeah, there does still seem to be the odd software things here and there, but for the most part things seem to have been dialed in by Ford.

We are about 11,000 miles into our '22 California Rt 1 AWD and have had zero issues. Range estimates have been right on the money for us, a little over 300 miles in the summer at full charge and mid 200s in the winter (we live in Iowa). The two things that are a bit of a learning curve are one peddle driving and getting used to charging instead of trips to the gas station. Both felt a little unnerving to me a first, but after a few days I got used to both and consider them a big benefit to the car now and would make it hard for me not to get an EV in the future.

Among my test drives, I felt that the Mach-E 1-pedal driving was more natural than the Hyundai, Kia or Tesla versions. But I am also coming from a manual transmission so I'm used to the engine braking (to the extent that happens)

Get it in writing that the dealer will provide a loaner if the car needs to be in the shop overnight or longer.

We enjoy our Select. The only thing I would do different is have my EVSE/charger directly wired instead of a plug.

I'd say buy an existing Mach E off a lot and avoid the delay. Dealers are offering 3-5k off of lot vehicles.
