I heard back from the dealership and they said they'd expect the part to take at least 3 weeks to arrive, and that they'll need the error codes from the diagnosis service appointment to place the parts order.

I understand there is a risk with being an early adopter of new technology, but am surprised that Ford is being allowed to leave people in a lurch like this. I imagine if one of their new ICE vehicle models had significant drivetrain failures resulting in cars breaking down or losing power the recall to fix the issue would go to the root cause of the failures, not introducing an electronic limiter bandaid solution.
Not sure if you want help or are just ranting? As noted if you can not diagnose it yourself get it diagnosed and phone FORD CANADA see original post #1 this thread. Whine about parts taking so long and ask if they can speed them up. As noted above that is what they exist for. May help to chat and get to know your service manager. Just people doing their best like the rest of us. Your problem is not their fault and they are the guys you need help from right now. Ask anyone which engineering geek got hit the worse with EA on this car. 15 times in in 2.5 years and counting. Word of advice don't name it karma ?

On the side

Just ran 190 miles at 70 mph today on 76% passing again with no problems yet. I have to say range has gotten better. Sent a departure schedule from FP this morning to the car (warming as it was 10C) and it worked o_O. Going to try deleting it clear every time in the car and sending it clean once from the phone to see if I can get consistency that way ?‍♂. Cleaned the port and the charger handle with compressed air and rubbing alcohol but my L2 charging is still really slow and crap.

This just happened to me yesterday. I am new to this forum. Driving about 80mph using Blue Cruise when a semi cut me off and I reacted faster than the car and hit the breaks. I got the High Voltage Battery Warning and Powertrain failure immediately on the dashboard. We continued home for another 15 minutes on the highway. I also saw that my available capacity had been reduced. I tried driving it once late yesterday and it seemed sluggish but no other noticeable issues. I drove it to the dealer today and they said they can’t get to it for a few days but the warning lights were still there.

I have a 2021 GT that was delivered early October 2021. This is my first problem with the car but definitely frustrating. I actually just had it serviced 2 weeks ago at the 20,000 mile mark.

Thanks for this post and I will follow the additional steps listed.

Hi there. This stop safely now concern doesn’t sound like something we want you to experience with your Mach-E. Could you please send us a PM with your VIN and the name and location of your Ford dealer? To send a private message, just click on our username and select "Start Conversation". I'd be happy to look into how I can assist you on my end.

It finally happened to my 2021 GTPE. After some spirited back road’s driving I stopped at a stoplight and noticed the service vehicle soon. Power was reduced to about 1/3 but other than that everything seemed fine. Decided to drive straight to my local Ford dealer Richmond Ford West. It was a Friday afternoon and they said that it would be 3-4 days before it could be looked at. To my surprise it was only 2 hours and they diagnosed the HVBJB issue and ordered the part. I picking up my loaner the next AM and it was a carbon copy of my car down to the color 21 v. 23. It was cool to check out BC 1.2 in the 23. Got the car back on Tuesday and all is well. Thanks to RFW for helping me out so quickly and making the experience pretty painless. I am relieved that it is done and I have the new part in my car. Off for more spirited back country drives.

Happened to me yesterday. On the highway on the way to a golf event. I have an appointment on Monday. Unfortunately, they don't have any loaner cars. Hopefully it won't take that long.

If you call the Ford BEV team they will tell you how to get a rental and I believe that me doing this got me priority treatment at the dealer. Number and information is at the beg of this thread. Good luck!

This did not help me! I am on day 69 or so without my car, we only were allowed 50 days of rental car @ $30 per day from Ford

Went on a road trip this weekend, was returning home through the mountains here in Oregon and on the downhill side of the pass with bluecruise on following a semi that was braking quite a bit, so speeds were up and down. I don't often DCFS but I did three times on this trip )and I have before on a couple of other similar trips over the past 22 months). While driving, got the High Voltage Battery Warning and Powertrain Malfunction, and the Service Vehicle Soon pop-up warning. I continued driving, stopped at an EA charger and was able to charge for a bit (although the the DCFS didn't go above 43kW while charging) and then drove it home. Also able to charge okay at home on my own L2 charger. Speeds didn't seem to be limited while driving (was as fast as 80mph, at least on the interstate). I'll call the dealer here on Monday - they have an EV-trained tech. Forscan Lite on the iphone says P0ADE:00-AF - BECM error: Hybrid/EV Battery Negative Contactor Control Circuit Range/Performance. Module voltage was 12.8V at the time of the event. And I passed 20K mniles while driving today. In fact, when the error occurred I was at about 19,960 miles.

Is there an uptick in these again? Last update I got was about precondition batteries before charging if you've setup a route with the navigator. Are there any similar updates to those recently impacted that might bring attention to how very much the software can impact the stability of this car?

I believe there remains no rhyme or reason to failures. Most appear to be the old style HVBJB but a few of the new one’s too. For the most part it also appears the recall software detects the potential failure, throws the SVS error, and then limits power. Car can still be driven so driver is not stranded. There is now another active NHTSA investigation regarding the HVBJB. I hope this answers your question. Preconditioning does not, to the best of my knowledge, have any impact on HVBJB failure rates.

I dropped my car off last week Wednesday to the dealership with same issues (SVS along with power train and high voltage battery errors). I have a 2021 MME GT Performance Edition with 16K miles. Ford has contacted me and I have a case #. Has anyone experienced their car not talking with device at dealership to read codes? They are going to try again on Monday because they were unsuccessful on Friday.

If the car will power cycle then it will send the codes to the mother ship wirelessly and they can be viewed in PTS. Sounds more like they just didn't get to it and gave you a lame excuse.

Mine failed a year ago on a road trip 1000 miles from home. Had to leave it in Reno for a month. But that was before the software update that now seems to act as a pre-detection and places some limits on power (and maybe charging speed?).

We continue to do a lot of long road trips (we're leaving Friday for another 2200 mile one). Wish we had a good idea of how long we can really keep it going while in restricted mode. If it does happen again far from home, I'd sure love to continue driving it to get it home, or even to finish the trip so it doesn't get ruined (again). But I have no idea if it could handle 1000 miles and another week.

My guess would be no, it wouldn't handle 1k miles especially if DCFC is required. From my experience I only made it through one DCFC after SVS and it didn't derate the charge speed.
