I was reading an article on the CT at the Hollister Hills off-road park. It had trouble completing some of the trails my K/5 completed in 2WD. It's probably a decent street truck (if you can put up with the ugliness), but it sure as heck ain't an off-roader. ?‍♂?

I just don't think EVs are good at doing truck things. Stuff like towing. They lose way too much range, and charging would be a pain if you're towing something.

I think that the cybertruck is just too big. It would of been more successful if it was 7/8 size.

At this point, I agree. It’s a use case sort of thing, EVs are best as people transporters or short distance haulers until there is a sea change in battery technology.

That is the most ugly car ever made. It's also a hazard and I don't know how its allowed to pass safety laws. If it is made from stainless steel and has no crumple zones then it is more like a tank.
Anyway, I would have loved to see more photos of the Black Ferrari Dino next to it (one of my favourite cars ever).

You don't think tesla is going to start rolling out truck friendly chargers? They need new chargers for the CT anyway as it's 800v platform and they're only setup for 400v currently. They'll deploy ahead of needs quickly because that's what they do. They're better than all other chargers, combined, and we'll all soon be benefitting from their work. They're a "car" company looking to completely dominate energy. Their owners are an afterthought in terms of charging for their goals. Like with the price changes they've done, there's no love for current owners outside of software updates.

As for charging, they're one of if not the best at 400v charging, I expect no difference in capability as they migrate to 800v. They've already got experience with this via the semi. If the CT isn't the king of miles per minute added I'll be very surprised.

This 7klb monster is NOT something you want to get in wreck with, especially if it's being operated by a complete moron. 7klb + ~1100hp heavy stainless truck = wrecking ball.

Thank goodness it won't be available in the UK. (He said hopefully). It's too big and wide for our roads plus it would need to be built in right hand drive form. It's bad enough with Range Rovers and Land Rovers plus the Ford Ranger on country roads.

I don't look forward to having to park next to one of these behemoths. It grinds my gears to no end that trucks have gotten so large yet parking spaces have remained the same size in many places.

I had one preordered (the one with the small battery, that won't make it into market anyway soon). I cancelled it due to the delays and very vague answer to the question of that thing makes it to the EU or not.

I'm not really in need for a Truck. I just like the look of that thing. I still do. It just looks so crazy different. I'm not a big fan of the purist interior of Tesla in general, but I would have lived with that just because of the look of the exterior.

So I ended up with the Mach-E. Good bang for the buck and it was produced and delivered in 3 months. Many people hate it as much as many hate the CT. That is a good sign to me :)

It depends on the use case. My Lightning does everything I need it to do, including towing. The drivetrain has towing characteristics superior to any 1/2 ton ICE.
I only wish it had a 6-1/2’ bed.

Feel free to wait and I'll feel more than free to trash it. No matter whether this was the first prototype ever built or seconds away from production, frankly I think it is the ugliest vehicle I've ever seen. I'd rather drive an AMC Pacer than a CT. ? (OK, that last statement just might be a tiny bit of hyperbole?)
Ok my god, a Pacer.

It tows, but only around town. You’re not going to pull a camper on a road trip.

To tow distances, you need something like the new Ram pickup (75 kWh electric with a v6 range extender).

Misalignments aside, this may be the ugliest vehicle I have sever seen.
