Tesla has clearly lost the thread here, imagine the time wasted, they could have been designing an actual good looking EV that’s practical for people and get a bigger EV in the mainstream, what a waste.

Someone's ego got in the way of practicality and design.

Weird and ugly but powerful and expensive BEV trucks………. Don’t have a great track record of sales.

Hummer EV- sold 371 in 2022 and a whopping 49 sold in the first half of 2023.

Make it much better looking and the Rivian sold 3600 and 7811 in the same time periods.

Make the truck cheaper and normal looking….. and Ford Lightnings sold about 16,000 YTD.

But those are drops in the bucket.
F150 gas version sells 600,000 to 900,000 per year.

So its closest competitor sells 49 a year…….. not sure I would target the ugly expensive fast BEV truck market myself if I wanted to sell “like crazy.”

Can’t deny the millions of reservations, but we shall see when people have to put down real money and there is a lack of a secondary market for flippers at a profit.

I think that the CyberTruck might end up being a flop. A lot of those reservations were made when there was almost no competition in the space. Now that people know that they have options, if they aren’t fan boys (or girls), and the first production vehicles end up being built poorly, or the price isn’t right, people who want a EV truck might go F-150 L, R1T, Silverado EV or these new RAM options.
