With how often it crashes, yeah.
My Galaxy S23 never crashes. Neither did my S22. And also, unlike my MME, my phone gets timely and regular software updates and improvements (BC 1.3 *cough* still waiting). I'm not an "Android is better than iOS" person but I certainly don't believe the reverse is true either.

Tesla has been at the pure BEV game longer than Ford. It also pulled an Apple by controlling the hardware and software for both its cars and how they are charged (had little choice at the time). It has had years to refine things as well. So of course the new user experience is better.

I'm definitely more of a tech geek than most. I stream flac audio files in my car using Plex from a Synology NAS in my living room (for example). I also have over 40 IoT devices at home. At one point, I tried using Wemo(Belkin) products in the mix. They were such crap (hardware and software) as to be unusable and I swapped everything out. This is to say, I have limits on putting up with poor technological implementation. Yes, the MME software is janky but it is not unusable. If it were, I would have swapped out my car within the first few months of ownership, just like I did with the Belkin crap.

I'm cautiously optimistic that Ford will continue to improve the software on the car.

Mach-E on order

I am almost in tne same situation as you and LOT of others buyers in Europe (France here)
We all ordered around june/october and were all told for a delivery early/late december

We have no more information, some already have their VIN, others don't, some knows that their mach-e is in Antwerp (Belgium) but still no more
Anyway, all waiting....

For the PaaK you still have the backup door/start codes so I see no issue with these

And for the update, in Europe Ford was a bit late, most mach-e still were running 4.x at some point, and only recently some had updates 5.x and 6.x, so we mayget a mach-e delivered with something like 4.x
Bonsoir Anders!

I didn't know that this was that common. I did get a VIN, unfortunately track&trace doesn't work on the ford website (wrong order number or VIN), although FordPass does recognize the VIN and associates it with a Mach-E. According to my dealer the car is indeed in Antwerp, Belgium (ironically I'm originally from Belgium). I honestly don't understand how it's possible that it takes over 2 months to get a car from Belgium to Spain, I mean, it's just 2000km all highways. It takes a truck 2 days.... I think they have so little orders that they group transport, which is why it's taking that long.

As for the PaaK, I know we have the door code, but if I wanted to open the car using the code I would just use that. If a phone can be used to unlock if you are in the proximity, I expect it to just work. Door code is good as a backup, but that's not what I need initially. It's like having to manually operate automatic windshield wipers.

When did you order your MME?

My order was placed on October 10, I am still in time for the dates I was said, my contract says between 1 and 31 of December, but still we are a lot within that time window

And yes you are right, they struggle with transport and grouping of cars for each dealer.

--
For the PaaK as said, yes there can be issues, but it seems that it just works ook most of the time, so I will go with that as long as it works, but well I work in IT and I am confident enough to just keep my codes with me every time :)

very good prices in Spain. In Latvia all these models are much more expensive. I suppose you have some support from government as a tax discount. We have nothing.
ps. I would wait for mach-e. :)

you can see prices in Latvia https://ford.inchcape.lv/stock-locator/?model=mustang_mach_e
Prices are actually quite similar. I'm guessing that on top of that base price you get some dealership discount too? There is tax discount, but it's not something you get when buying the car. I MAY get some kind of "refund" by the state, however that's very uncertain and not something I'm counting on to be honest.

Cool man. That's about a couple of weeks before I did. I hope we get them MME's soon :)
By the way, I'm in IT too! Is this a geek car or what?

Actually nice to hear a "technologically demanding"-person is keeping his MME.

I don't think it is a geek car, but I think IT people are more wealthy than the average buyers, and most people don't buy 40-45k cars, they go with 15-20k cars, at least that's what we see the most on roads

For example a Puma titanium, which is a mid-size suv is 25k (you can prob go down to 22k)

For the price in France I was quoted 46990€, minus immediate "ECO" credit of 7000€ (which will be removed on most non-EU cars in 2024), which downs it to 39990€, with White-star, Pack techno +, Panoramic roof
Details are like

Select SR - 56990€
Pack techno + - 2100€
Paint - 1500€
Roof - 1200€
Total - 61790€
Immediate "offer" -14800€ (this is to lower the price under 47000€ because 47k is the upper limit to get the eco credit....)

Now for the delivery, it is not like in the US, in the US you have the car price, and the "destination fees" can go around 2k, but you know you are paying for the car to be transported/delivered
In Europe in general, all these costs are hidden inside the retail price, with no more information, that is why we "wait for a truck to be filled with cars and delayed" because they are like, but you don't pay for, if the destination price would have been clearly detailed, we would have had the power to say "BUT I paid for the delivery, I expect results"...

That's actually a quite decent price you got I think. I mean it's cheaper than in Spain and in general, in France people earn way more than people in Spain.
Mine is the exact same car as yours I think! We changed the color from grey to white to get it earlier.

YEAH you were... I have no such details (no dealer does in France, everything is well package in an opaque way)

But yes almost similar price, you have VAT at 21% we are at 20% and I have the 7k€ tax bonus so it is around the same deal

Your Samsung android phone works well. But android is not limited to to Samsung. There are tons of other that don’t get updates, or slow or just don’t work well.
And that’s the point. Tesla is like apple. They control all the modules in their car. Hence it’s easier for them to make it work well together.

Question Anders. I initially picked the gray colour, but changed to white just as you, due to delivery date. However I did like the white version on picture, I was disappointed when I saw it in real life, and I couldn’t tell why. It was just missing “something”. A few days later I realized it’s the base/select trim. The matt black wheel fenders and rims make it way less attractive.

So I was thinking of either changing the wheel fenders for the piano black ones from the premium trim (if I can find them in Europe at least) or have them painted in the body color. And the same for the rims, swap them for some nicer ones, or at least the premium ones. In the US plenty of premium trim owners swapped theirs and have the original ones for sale. However, I have the impression that here in Europe there are very few MME owners, which means less aftermarket shops (for example for the fenders), and also less second hand rims.

what is your thought on how the select white trim looks? Had similar ideas?

First, yes for now there is way less Mach-E owners in the EU, I think it is because it was marketed very late in Europe.

Now for the trims, yes the Select has matte ones, compared to the Piano black in Premium & GT

For the trims, I'd first try a piano black vinyl wrap, with the correct preparation it should hold, for the parts, I have a few addresses but most are US based, so yes you can find the parts, but you'll have to pay the extra $$$ for shipping

This one below is a GT, but the GT also has the rims with the same color as the body

I am sure there is a lot of options, for myself I will start with the subtle red line as per the picture.

Now for the rims, that is the same, I have seen a few aftermarket ones, but price is prohibitive, and same on the Ford official store, you can purchase almost all the Mach-E rims, but they are around 500€/each so that makes a 2k for the set + 1k for new tires

Not my priority right now, and as there very few in Europe, I am sure that even with the matte finish heads & better looking rims will turn ;)

nice that you were also looking into that stuff. I may as well try that vinyl, although I heard since it’s a rough surface (as opposed to the premium/gt soft surface) the vinyl may look weird. Not that expensive to give it a try though.
As for the rims, I may as well give that a thought when I have to change tires.
By the way, the front grille is also something I may try wrapping, to give it the GT look.

oh, which red line are you referring to? Maybe it’s due my color blindness or because it’s too small to notice on my cell phone ?

As said, it is very subtle, the red line is just in between the black bottom trim and the white paint, zoom a little
