Update on Mach-E launch progress from engineering friends in Mexico

Given the mostly really good reviews, all we need now is shipping to begin! I wonder if the fact that since we haven't seen or heard much about shipping means that the issue is more complicated than expected becuase of the pandemic. Lots of review to watch and read while waiting.

Mine had a build date of 12-8, didn't go to body shop until the 10th, then was in trim line from 11th until today when it switched to produced. I verified it completed the end of line tests and then showed up in Ford Pass as being able to activate it, though it didn't get accepted when I tried.

As of the past couple hours, I now have option to activate in FordPass App. I think "Shadow" has been born! Will see if production date gets updated overnight as most prior posts have noted this is the case. Out of curiosity @Gimme_my_MME , what are the last few digits of VIN (if willing to share)? Or give range (mine is between 7200 and 7300). Just wondering if we are seeing a sequential VIN production completion.

Does anyone know the approximate capacity of a typical rail transport?
Something like 20 MME will fit in a rail car, and they can pull 400 rail cars at once = 8000 per transport.

I made those numbers up, but if anyone has real numbers....

I would be interested to see if they are staging everything for one giant train, or we're past that already?

I have a low 6000 VIN sequence number and not scheduled for build until 12/20. No sticker has been made available yet.

The last 4 of my VIN starts with a 6. Production is not sequential with VIN

Using the www.macheforum.com/site/pages/tracker ... look at the "Production Date" field, if it has something that is when it is built. The "Primary Status" will still say "In Production"

Actually the final stage before it's considered Produced is 'Trim Line'. Then after that it goes into 'Produced' status.

The major statuses flow like this: Assigned to Build Week > Assigned to Build Day > Sent to Plant > Body Shop > Trim Line > Produced

The Ford Vehicle Tracking site shows a date for "Scheduled for Prod". From what I understand this means the vehicle has been produced. When does the "Built" circle get filled in?

Don’t know. If I had to guess I would say once it’s shipped.

I wonder if we are wrong to keep blaming the delay on COVID. What if it's as simple as Ford's original plan not working, and we just assumed all along it was due to COVID?

Interesting....When I logged into the FordPass app (for the 100th time today), I saw a message at the top saying "Ford Pass Connect, active this vehicle in vehicle details to...."....well, when I click on Vehicle Details, there's nothing new there. There is no button to "activate". Oh...for the record, the last 5 of my VIN is 06215 and my build week was 6 December.
