Today I sold our 2013 F-150 (51,650 miles - sold it for $25k). We are now 100% EV. Weeks before the 10 year warranty extension on the lead frame expires. I'll miss it though.

Good for you! I just do not ever see myself giving up on owning one ICE rig while I live in Alaska. I almost exclusively drive my Mach around town but for now there are just some things my Expedition works better for. And I am still not certain I want to drive around in an EV at much below -20F.

I still have my dad's 2005 F-150 that I inherited when he died but it gets driven less than 1000 miles a year.

Otherwise my wife and I have been 100% electric for almost two years now.

I keep trying to decide if it is worth the $1400 or so it costs a year to keep the truck. I could rent a truck the 3-4 times I need one for much less but would be much less convenient for those times.

The primary reasons we sold ours were:

1) No room in garage. In pains me to see a vehicle being weathered to death after I take good care of it.
2) Made backing out the Lightning difficult, and took 3 backs and forth coming in to line up the Lightning.
3) 10 year extended warranty on leadframe, it will go eventually. Long wait time for part, and I think $2k by the time you're done.
4) My carrying cost was about $150 a month for insurance.
5) I paid $32k in 2013. Put about $5k into it between tires, tonneau cover, bedliner, .... Sold it for $25k, way, way above anyone's value. So net cost for 10 years is around $1,200 a year.
6) It was time. No more excuses.

I knew it would sell, because I had to renew the registration. I missed that IF I hadn't applied the sticker, I could have got my $168 back...

I’ve been 100% electric since I got my Mustang Mach-E in March 2021.
Same here. 100% electric since July 2022 when I got the Mach-e. No way I’d go back. Welcome to the club Rick.

Would have been sooner, but nobody wanted to pay my asking price for the F-150, until this buyer. Pays to wait!

I still have an ICE, but it lives under a tarp with a disconnected battery. Does that count?

I just became 100% EV'd last week when I gave my beloved 2012 Prius to my daughter. I hope my MME lives up to that Prius's trouble free record!

Congrats Rick! I'll join the crowd I guess when I finally get persuaded to sell my 1995 BMW K75 3-cylinder Flying Brick bike. Although THAT will surely break my heart...
