You know, everyone says “don’t use the Ford Mobile Charger other than in emergency or as a backup.” Both my MMEs, that’s all I have used. With all the weather in my area, this one is starting to derate a bit (after a year) but I’m not going out to buy a new one any time soon.
It’s very much designed to be a mobile charger

I've used my Ford Mobile since day one for both my MME (33k miles now), and wife' PHEV BMW 330e daily charging.

I might have a Grzzl-E Classic for sale. It has been almost flawless for the past 2 EVs, and about 4 years in the weather. It still works well and looks great.

This is kind of a dumb question but it seems likely, are the dip switches on your unit set correctly? If you order from Amazon they need to be set by the purchaser, if you order directly from Grizzle they are already set for the correct amperage.

I have had two Grizzl-E chargers; I bought a single car charger, 40 amp classic, in June 2022 and had zero issues with it for eight months. I typically charged at least 5 nights/week. In March 2023, I bought a Grizzl-E Duo to replace the single car classic. I have had zero issues with it as well.

Yeah, seems they don't want to consider they could be the problem (install or whatever), or just bad luck. Then they disregard everyone that has it and no real issues.

To be fair though, went to Amazon and sorted reviews by New. If they have a quality issue it could be recent cost cutting, but by about a 10 to 1 margin, people seem happy.

There are reports of failures so not going to completely write off OPs concerns, but I can't find a charger without reports of failures. At least a couple of the bad reviews were people that gave it a bad review for not having an App... Gotta love people that blame a product for not having a feature it never promised.

I don't have a Grizzle, I have a ChargePoint, so no real dog in this fight. Other than to say, the people on this thread are just trying to be helpful.

Your frustration is clear. I'm sorry for laughing at this thread....it makes me think of Clark Griswold attacking the reindeer when he cant get his Christmas lights to work in christmas Vacation.

I also have a dumb charger, but it is from ClipperCreek (now Enphase). Yes, it works great.

Maybe a call to Grizzl-e is in order.

Pretty much every one is going to have failures. I had mine die after a year and a half and they sent out a replacement overnight next day. It’s the customer service that helps as well.

I've had two, one for my MME for 3 years without issue and a one year old second one for a Pacifica PHEV also without issue, so they're from different lots. I have them both set to 32 A. There was a post somewhere about an issue some units had if set to the max 40 A value. Don't know if that issue affects mine, but I set it lower before I even knew about the issue as in general the lower charge levels the better and 32 A is plenty fast.

This guy just trolling. Y'all need to nor even reply.

I have the white/winter version I guess. 1 year 6 months in around. It comes with 3 year warranty.

I ordered straight from the source and got a recent build date of unit. I think you might be able to request that if you call and order a unit.

I never order through Amazon for things like this.
