Or provide an incentive like Cadillac is doing. This was rumored but now confirmed. A friend wasn't going to take delivery of his Lyriq but probably will.

Your tax dollars at work! Promote EVs with tax incentive, not realizing sourcing material for batteries is not done on monthly or 1 year basis. And always looks good to promote evs to have it only apply to certain cars especially the more expensive models.

The cheap batteries in the lower trims are either built in China or have materials mostly from China. LFP batteries are dominated by CATL.

The US needs to ramp up battery production ASAP along with graphite refinement/production.

I do think Sodium Ion batteries are the future and we should build those factories ASAP also.

Yes, sodium ion seems very promising - watching it's progress for EVs.
Charges 3x faster, cycle life lasts longer, and much less expensive components than LFP or lithium.
Technology will change away from using cobalt.

Good for many applications, but the lower energy density is a problem for EVs where energy density is super important (enough range without adding too much weight). It's a bit like the LFP vs NMC deployment now, where the FLP's need to go into the shorter range trims because the energy density is worse.

But no doubt they'll improve over time as well.

Dealer near me has 2 GTs for $10000 OVER MSRP. Their web page pricing shows +$10000 for an "appearance package" that DOES NOT appear on the sticker .
So tax credit expires and these mental giants think the solution is to raise the already inflated price by another $4000 today .

It's the opposite at my dealer (CO). 28 MMEs in stock. Discounts on most, like this GT...

Lease… don’t buy an EV unless you plan on keeping it until the wheels fall off. Tech moves too fast.

Now that the tax incentives are all gone on the Mach E when will Ford slash the prices and for how much?
My dealership did in December. January back at MSRP less I like $1000 ford incentive

Yeah, it doesn't look like Ford wants to move any on the lot. I think there was a $1000 bonus on top of the $3000 on Premium and GT last month. This month is just $3000 for Premium and GT.

That Lyric 'deal' is the non Super Cruise ones that are flooding lots?

I don't think Ford cares much about what's on lots. Probably more about what has been stacking up in their yards they can't get rid of.

Only reason I bought mine was 0% financing and equity in my trade.

Yeah it looks like they just extended the $3000 Retail Bonus Cash from last month until April 2. But only for some trims. That made up for most of the loss of $3750 tax credit last year, but it's well short of making up for the full $7500 tax credit loss this year.

I kinda figured Ford wouldn't be able to jack the incentive way up. They're already losing too much money on the Mach-E. Looks like some dealers are eating much of the tax credit loss though by offering their own discounts, hoping to move some of their building inventory on lots. Anyone looking to buy should probably be shopping many different dealers, even out of state.

I forgot to add that there are 86 GTs in a 50 mile radius from the over priced one I posted. Some as low as $57500.This car will still be on the lot well past the time they plant me .
Your example seems to be inflating the MSRP also . Is it really a good deal if they inflate the price and then "discount" it ?

Not inflated. It's the actual MSRP. GT PE. Here's the window sticker.
