Comes down to cost, but word is that it's going to be a 20k premium on the ICE Macan. So we're looking at 80k+to start, likely 100k after some options.
Won’t come cheap. Air suspension is standard as I would think many other items are also. But if you want colored seat belts, you can get them.

My favorite is when Porsche will charge you (and it's not insignificant) to remove standard features like the radio.

When I bought spark plugs for my Cayenne turbo, they were 10$ each from the auto part store, but the exact same one (NGK), but they came in a Porsche box, were $40 each. Love the Porsche Tax.

These just make me sad.

It’s a freakin PORSCHE!!!

Charging speed, range tests? WTF?

When a new Porsche comes out, the last thing I want to know about is fuel economy and capacity.

0-60, 1/4 mile, top speed, handling, braking, track times………

?

But it is what I want to know. The only way I replace my MME is for a significant range increase.

At least during the OOS video, they weren't allowed to talk about how it drove or performance metrics. I suspect they only got to talk about range because some companies are still just using the same agreements they have used for years when it comes under the embargo and historically how far the vehicle can go wasn't a big part of any review.

So lame.

We don’t even know how much horsepower the base Macan has………. But I know how far you can drive it if you cruise at 60 mph from 100% charge to 0% charge………. Something that I will never do.

If you’re buying a Porsche based on efficiency…… you’re doing it wrong. ?

Considering all the Taycan issues, Id have to see how it does 12mo out to form an opinion on whether Im interested or not.
Yeah and its twin sister the Audi GT. Amazing how may lemon/dealer buybacks are on use car sites. I really wanted an AudiGT, but all those lemons are scaring me off.

I followed one up an on ramp and onto the highway, and it looked amazing. One of the coolest looking cars I have seen in a long time.

Not every ride will be a sporty one, gunning it at every turn. ;)

Of course all the performance/sporty specs are key, and these will be shared next.

But knowing the base model (4) can do over 320 miles on a single charge at highway speed (meaning higher range in mixed environment) and the higher model (Turbo) also does 300 miles in the same conditions is pretty great!

I dunno.

It definitely isn’t one of the stats, let alone the FIRST stat I am anxiously waiting for.

I figured anyone looking at the size of the Macan and the size of its battery would easily assume the range would be “adequate” and move on to the REAL reasons people buy a Porsche.

Fuel economy or efficiency is rarely highlighted.

You’re right when it comes to ICE vehicles from Porsche but when we are talking about EVs, range becomes important

Maybe I am misreading their target market, but I will be a bit surprised if buyers focused on range will be plopping down $100k+ on this car.

I would think as long as it’s adequate like my 260 mile GTPE, it won’t be a hinderance to buyers.

But based on the larger battery, no surprise it has a longer range than I do, but wouldn’t care if it’s the same 260.

Hell, I already decided to buy this car when I thought the range was 230.

Looking at the Mach E as an example of target markets- there are TONS of “former Prius drivers” who bought this car.

But they didn’t buy the GTPE, they bought the cheaper models.

GTPE buyers tended to drive previous inefficient ICE vehicles that were performance focused.

The Macan base model is more like the GTPE so I figured they’ll pull from the same market of buyers. Of course there will be exceptions to the rule, but marketing 101 is “know your target market.”

I’ve had a couple of Porsches and now 1 EV. My need for speed at my age has been a bit surpassed by the need for range.

when you can fill up anywhere, range in an ICE is irrelevant, much different in an EV as we all know.

Porsches in my area are a dime a dozen, used for travel into Manhattan, vacations, ski trips, beach trips etc, many by housewives. Hell, there are at least 5 dealerships within 50 miles of where I live.

EV range is important at least it is to me and I wouldn’t buy an EV with less than 300 mile range because as we all know real useable is way less In the wild.
