Hi guys and gals
I have an Autel charger that is rated to 50 amps, however, for some reason my charger now will not allow anything higher than a 32 Amp charge. They say that the MachE is not able to accept anything higher. Is this correct?

No, that is absolutely false. The Mach-E can AC charge at a max of 48amps. To go over 40amps, you need to be hardwired.

My charger is hardwired. They say that a level 2 single phase charger with the MachE is only 32 amps. That you need a level 3 charger to go to 48. I looked up on line and this seems to be correct

Whoever “They” is doesn’t know what they’re talking about. You probably have the Autel set to 32A. What’s your breaker size?

Except of course if your charge port temperature exceeds 60 C when it will throttle your rate which is happening to many of us. My car will not charge continuously at 40 amps….discussed in length on another thread.

vehicle can accept up to 48amps via CCS lvl 2.
your charge may have internal dip switches, or software setting ?

if the evse is hardwired with correct gauge wire you could go to 48 .
if your evse has a 14-50 plug.... you probably should stick with 32 amps .

Not living in UK, just all web sources point to the same thing, single phase level 2 chargers will no go over 32amps. You need to go to a level 3 charger to get higher

Next time, please post the links to what "they" say.

Level 3 is a misnomer. There is no such thing as Level 3 AC charging. What some folks incorrectly call Level 3 should be called DC Fast Charging.

As is stated already, the Mach E charges at up to 48A.

The mobile charger that comes with the Mach E started out as a 32A charger but may now be 30A.

Some one forgot to tell my car and it has been doing it wrong for almost three years then. My charger is set to 40 amps and the car charges at that rate.
