After seeing this post, the bean counters in Dearborn are like "You promised them what?!?!"
Given the sales numbers, Jim can probably pay for them all out of his pocket.

Seriously, the amount of negativity is a tad annoying. Ford just confirmed that they are giving these adapters away for free (a HUGE deal because it was previously very ambiguous) and they show what the adapter looks like. For the other details, have some patience. Not everything has to be out there TODAY and RIGHT NOW!

Once again the people "in the know" on this forum were wrong. So many said Farley wasn't clear in his tweet and that Ford wouldn't be sending these out for free. Once again, crow must taste nice.

They were also wrong about us not getting BC 1.4. Many said it would 100% be version 1.3. (And at the rate we're going it could be 1.5 by the time most of us get it.)

How about people stop acting like what they say is fact instead of opinion and realize that you might not know as much as you think.

I was hoping for a short cord so that we could park normally at a Tesla charger.
Actually, if they had put it at a 90 degree angle and up slightly (over the charge door), that would have made it easier to reach.

Interesting. So looks like people that bought theirs used will be able to get an adapter but if a person keeps the adapter they reserved when they sell their car the next owner is SOL on getting a free one.
Unless the sellers have ethical principles.

I don’t believe it for one minute and won’t until it’s in my hands.

No date provided
No details on “eligibility”
No details on process of acquiring the adapter

I would not be surprised if we don’t get this for several years, if ever.

Assuming you are talking about Farley's original interviews and announcements where he said the adapter would be "made available". That wasn't clear and those of us skeptical that it would be free had reason to be.
As one of those skeptical bunch, I'm happy they have exceeded my expectations.

Those folks made educated guesses and have otherwise been extraordinarily helpful here. Crowing about what might have well been a mid-course correction seems petty.

I thought V3 and V4 Superchargers have longer cables?
v4 = yes (although I've not heard of any of these being deployed in the United States yet)
v3 = no
v2 = no and not CCS compatible so not available to us anyway (or so I've read)

UPDATE: Apparently v4's ARE starting to be deployed in the US now!

Ok, let me say: I WAS WRONG! I didn’t think there was any way Ford was going to give these to us for free. I am pleasantly surprised and looking for one. I’m glad I didn’t buy one of those third-party adapters!
